I think its alright and at the end of the day, you are getting games for really low prices. My gripe is that whenever I finish the 3 daily discovery que things in order to get the 3 free trading cards, I haven't gotten them. I did it yesterday and again today and they are still not in my inventory, does anyone else have this problem?

On the topic of trading cards, I think that the fact that you have to spend such a ridiculous amount of money to get all the summer sale trading cards is taking things a little bit too far and is unfair for those who aren't millionaires. But at the end of the day, you have to appreciate Valve for at least having events like these. All I've picked up so far is The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth + Rebirth, Stardew Valley and Kingdom Rush (I have a crappy laptop)

The lack of a minigame and a rather ugly home page layout does substantiate the point you made though.

I was wondering where the flash and daily deals were. I didn't know they were removed. That really sucks. I agree, with the sloppy home page layout. It does look messy. As far as the sales, go they're pretty mediocre and inferior to the ones in the past. The flash/daily sales definitely added a little bit of excitement before. The change to make CSGO unable to be given as a gift is pretty weird too. I can understand the logic behind it though.

For some reason, my friend tried to gift me cs go but it didnt let him gift it during the summer sale what a big bummer. Guess cs go likes to be a huge buzzkill.

The last couple of sales have been kind of lame. I think a major problem is that Steam now has to give out refunds. This prevents them from running flash sales because they're concerned that everyone who had already bought the game will ask for a refund. Unfortunately, the lack of flash sales and daily deals means that people no longer have a reason to check the page every day. I keep forgetting about the sale and in the past, I would have been refreshing and constantly checking for flash deals. I'm trying to save money right now so it's not a huge deal to me but I really miss all of the crazy deals we saw in 2012 and 2013.

I've only been around for one other Steam sale which was the 2015 Winter sale, but I agree that this time the sales are mildly disappointing. I've seen some 40% off sales which are pretty good, but they are still very expensive. Last sale, I got a lot of games for less than $4 CDN.

I've looked at the sales, and haven't picked up anything yet. Nothing really looks that good to me. Hoping I can at least pick up a couple games though.

Definitely different this time around, I'm in a different countrie and so the summer sale is in summer then winter. Looking at the cost in £££ it's definitely cheap but still costly.

I got two DLC that also came with to summer sale cards

Yeah, I haven't went back to the sale page since the second day, since all the prices won't change anyway. I don't see a point in a discovery queue, there's only a specific number of games on my wishlist that I'm interesting in buying if the price is good.

It was a bit disappointing to see games on my wishlist at 20% off, knowing there's zero chance of the prices going down further. My main issue with the discovery queue is how random it is. I've never played a first person shooter on Steam (I literally can't play them, they give me motion sickness for some reason) but my queue will be full of them. I really expected it to be tailored more towards my interests.
