Like most PC gamers do, I buy a big part of my games from Steam. It started with good deals, and now it's too convenient for me, to the point I don't really consider stop using it, ever. I think the main difference in my case is that unlike most Steam users, I actually have no problem using Origins or GOG.
The thing is, Steam is going down in quality, we need those alternatives to exist because otherwise Steam will have a monopoly on PC games, and that never comes with anything good. We need them trying to one up each other so we can have good deals and get a good service.
