A Colorado company called Parking Stripe Advertising is staring to sell advertising on those yellow and white lines you see in parking lots.
The agency uses heavy-duty tape bearing promotional ads to cover the parking stripes and charges $40 per stripe to do so.
Hey, aren’t these stripes painted there by the city? Shouldn’t they be doing something about this? Isn’t it illegal or something to deface city property? I mean, what is stopping an enterprising young buck like myself from selling ads on, say, all the stop signs around my neighborhood? Sure, hundreds could die in car wrecks, but at least they’ll know the new Larry The Cable Guy movie is coming soon to DVD before they are jettisoned through their windshield and impaled on a picket fence, right?
