Why are Nintendo releasing NES games on the 3DS Virtual Console instead of Game Boy ones?

I mean, the original Mega Man games are nice, but wouldn't it be more logical to port over the Game Boy ones first? As well as the Game Boy Zelda and Mario titles (like Super Mario Bros Deluxe instead of the NES game)?

There are thankfully quite a few Game Boy games being ported over, but I think Nintendo needs to sort out their priorities here. Heck, unify the account system already so when we buy a game once, we can play it on any Nintendo system. That way, we can buy home consoles ports on a home console and portable game ports on a handheld, and then play them on whatever Nintendo system we want.

Does anyone agree?

... Aren't console versions typically superior to their handheld counterparts? I think it's fine, they're putting up pretty much equal amounts of both NES and GB games anyway.

Not when it comes to Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. They added a TON of extra features to that game.

I think you are pretty right.

It would be fun to see some old Pokémon and Oracle Of Ages and Link To The Past instead of all these NES ports that is allready all over the Wii.

An account system must be added at some point.

If the account system came into existence what would stop people from linking multiple consoles to one account and therefore getting multiple games for the price of one? On a side note, I'd love to see snes games on 3ds. I can't be bothered to buy a gamecube or classic controller and I want to play Super Metroid and Super Mario RPG.

On the Xbox you can do this.

There you can log into someone else's console with your profile and download/play a game.

But you can play this game on that profile only so you would have to give the password away, I don't think someone would like to do so.

Nintendo could do this also.
