Why do businesses fail?

I feel companies using advertising actors who committed a serious crime like assault can cause a company to fail because many people don't buy products or services from a company who employed an advertising actor who committed a serious crime in the past.

Exactly! People don't realize, you have to pay for the mortgage or the rent each month on the building your using each month. Plus, you have to pay for the utilities on that building each month. Then you're paying for supplies your business uses, paying your employees, paying to restock what your business sells, and so on and so on.

You have to sell enough stuff to keep all that going or the business will go under.
 
I feel like the underlying issue is people. Finding them for work and sustaining their ability to have their own place and means to get to work and everything else. The rest of it is on the means to make it overcome things like inflation and the public need for said service.
 
Some people start a business out of jealousy. They don't have any knowledge or understanding of how the business works but as a result of their envy and also because they have the money, they will start the business but only to struggle and fail in the process.

Who know, but maybe they do have knowledge of it, but mismanage it.

I strongly doubt someone would have most of the knowledge of how to run a business he's started but end up mismanaged it. Management of the business is part of knowing how to run the business.

Just look at what happened to Sears and K-Mart. Eddie Lampert had the business experience, but yet the mismanaged both companies and ran them into the ground.

I was very shocked how that happened with Eddie Lampert in charge of Sears and K-Mart. It looked like a curse at work but it truly wasn't.
