The stuff mentioned in this interview sounds really promising:

every game for the Wii U, and this is true for the Nintendo 3DS too, will be available in both packaged as well as digital. It’s really about choice.

So it's possible to download every single Wii U and 3DS game from here on out rather than going to a shop to buy it? And you can also decide to buy any of these games in packaged/retail form?

I like that. I guess it means I could spend a whole lot less time buying the likes of New Super Mario Bros 2, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and Paper Mario, and use that time to actually play them.

Is there a way you can play your games on another Nintendo, for example if I go to my parents’ house and want to play on their console?

You’ll have an account system so you’ll be able to access your account anywhere.

So you can log into your account on any machine and play your games from any Wii U console? That's really nifty, especially as it means you can go to someone's house and actually show them say, New Super Mario Bros U without having to bring the game round.

I wonder if you can access save data this way too, that'd be even better!

But yes, does this make anyone else more excited for the Wii U?

The only problem is a Wii U game might be 10 Gigs of size...

SD cards wouldn't even be big enough, for more than about 3 games.
I'm pretty sure nintendo said that it will have a HDD..
It doesn't have an internal hard drive (just look at the thing, does it look like there's room in there for a hard drive to you?). However, it will be compatible with external hard drives, so as long as you've got one you don't have to worry about not having enough space.

then that obviously means more hacking opportunities.

At least the account system is flawless. But I must admit, the console will surely run out of memory faster then my Xbox 360 since I have to go out and purchase the games still on the 360, as well as Xbox Live games. So I would rather go out and buy the games, since the saves take up much less data then the actual game itself, keeping storage for where it's needed most.

Even the Wii is starting to run out of usable memory. And when I look at the games from the Virtual Console, they don't look like they're taking up as much space as they are and I did remove quite a few of them.
