Wii U Pro Controller

I'm not sure if people will have all that hard a time though. It is basically shaped like a 360 controller which lends a degree of familiarity already for those used to the 360 controller. And lets not forget that the SNES used the YXBA placement like that, so that is classic Nintendo button placement. (So really it kinda looks like a strange offspring of a 360 controller and SNES controller. Or an SNES face with a 360 controller body + analogue sticks.)

Besides when you're in the midst of playing a game, most experienced game players don't even look at the controller anymore so what is written on/beside the buttons is largely irrelevant. They just know that top button does . Sort of like how if you play Call of Duty on PS3 you know triangle (top face button) switches weapon while on the 360 it's the Y button (also the top face button). Thanks to standard button arrangement/looks and conventionally configured controls. So even if you spend a lot of time on PS3, you could adapt to play on the 360 relatively quickly.

Though admittedly, the placement of the analogue sticks does look a bit awkward. But it's probably not all that much different from using the 360 controller. And so I think most people will just adapt fairly easily. Those that won't are probably too busy complaining to play the games anyway.
