Will Electric Cars be Popular in Near Future with Poor People who Buy Used and Beater Cars?

I think it is unlikely that a large percentage of poor people who buy used beater cars would buy an electric car in the near future.

A used beater car can cost under $1000 like used cars from the 1990s. Some used car do not run very well, but it is cheaper than most electric cars. A lot of people also drive used cars which they got for free from their parents, friends, or junk yard where it is possible to fix old cars where they can run again by replacing broken car parts, or building a car from working parts from other broken cars.

Some poor people also may want to drive a older 1990s model luxury used sportscar with a nice design and luxury brand like BMW or Mercedes which can be bought for the same price as a less powerful electric car, or new lowend car.

The price of gas is also not very expensive in many countries where you save a lot of money driving a $40,000 electric cars which cost more money than most used car.

New Cheap Gas cars like the Chevy Spark which can be bought for under $10 000 are more affordable than a more expensive electric cars, so buyers can still save a lot of money buying a new gas car if they dont want a used car, or electric car.

depends how cheap it is to keep them charged. I wouldn't mind going electric myself since I hate going to gas stations.

I think keeping electric cars charged is not too expensive in some places with affordable electricity, but not everyone own a garage to install the charger for the car. In bigger cities, there are electric car charging parking lots which is paid for by tax payer money, or the local businesses like supermarket, bakery or restaurant which runs the parking lots, and chargers. But, the price of products in stores and restaurants maybe more expensive to help earn more money to pay for the electricity usage from charging cars.

I don't like gas stations as well since they can smell bad. There is always a chance of a car crashing into the gas pumps, and causing a fire or explosion, or a person smoking a cigarette which causes a gas fire if they drop the cig. onto a puddle of gas on the floor.

A lot of cars and other stuff these days have a lot of tech which may give off sparks if something breaks. There are also crazy people, criminals, and terrorists who may start a fire at a gas station to harm people around the gas station.
