It is possible that electric cars can increase the electricity usage of most cities in the future if there are many people who choose to drive electric cars in the future. People may end up using less electricity driving an electric car at the city speed limit like 30 MPH compared to having many of their electronics like PC, TV, mobiles, stereo, cable boxes, lights, robots, hair dryer, electric stove, humidifier, dehumidifier, fans, and heating their whole home to a warmer temperature with an electric heaters, or cooling their home to a colder temperature with an air conditioners when they are at home.

But, there is a chance that diesel, gas, and bicycles and other human and animal powered carts stay popular because of local government and companies promoting gas cars, public transportation, bicycles, walking, running, etc, so the number of electric cars in a city is small. There maybe more nicer looking gas cars from better gas car brands like Mercedes, Volvo, Range Rover, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti which make current electric car owners switch back to gas cars, so they look more stylish/cool rather than driving an electric car.

There may not be as many people who need to drive many hours per day in the future because of different types of jobs like becoming an online webcam streamer, eBook writer, app maker, pod-caster, e-mail tech support, and video editor where driving a car is not always necessary for most of their daily work life. Some people may rather spend their money on other things like vacations, video games, organic food, and a small business like an online shopping website to sell their homemade artwork rather than on electricity to charge a electric car.

I read articles that say more people in Canada and America are choosing not to get a driver license because of expensive driving lesson fees, and they can't afford a car, so there maybe fewer drivers in the future.

A lot of people in their 80s and 90s may not have good health to drive, and some cities don't have a lot of new children being born every year, so the need for many electric cars is not as necessary if most old people are no longer healthy enough to drive, and there are fewer teens in a city who can drive.

Hopefully not, I don't think anyone needs higher electric bills.

Unfortunately, people sometimes pay more for electricity even when using less electricity. Most new LED lightbulbs, fridges, TVs, and clothe washer and dryers use less electricity than older electronic appliances, but the cost of electricity keeps rising because of the owner, and executives of the electricity companies want to make more money, so they become richer from charging more money per watt of electricity.

The government sometimes add more taxes to electricity to make people pay more for using the same amount of electricity.

Some electric companies may poorly spend their company's money on more power generators, electric cables, maintenance trucks with long ladders, tech, and buildings which they may not need because there is no Electricity shortage in some cities, or the city's population becomes smaller because of people leaving the city to find work at another city, war, drought, flooding, forest fires, or dying of old age and sickness, and a low human birthrate in a city which make the population smaller.

Probably. The electric cars are environment friendly...
So, it's for the best in every other aspect I suppose.

Some electric cars have internet access, wifi, a touchscreen computer, USB ports, heating, air conditioning, and interior lights so people may save some electricity using the internet in their electric car instead of using the internet at home which may use more electricity because their home desktop PC or laptop, Internet modem and router uses a lot more electricity than the internet tablet installed in their electric car. Heating and cooling rooms in a house sometimes require a lot of electricity to keep the room hot or cool depending on the size of the room and what type of materials your room is made with.

One of the advantages of an electric car is that you can park it under a tree, bridge, or in a parking garage, so it is cooler in the summer, and park it in direct warmer sunlight in the winter, so you don't need to turn on the heater as much in the Winter, and the sunlight can be used to charge an electric car with solar power.

Charging an electric car is sometimes free or very cheap at some parking lots which offer electric car charging where it maybe cheaper to charge your car at an electric car charging parking lot than paying for regular parking at a paid parking lot where drivers may need to pay many dollars an hour to park on a city street with parking meters, or inside a paid parking garage.
