Will Nintendo ever bring back the old Mario Kart mini turbo system?

You know, the one where you held R and moved the control stick/D Pad from side to side to charge it?

The one that made 'snaking' possible in Double Dash and DS?

Or will it permanently be like in Mario Kart Wii and 7 from now on due to the complaints they got about 'snaking' in the DS game from some people?

Personally, I kind of wish they did bring it back. Thought the whole ability to use mini turbos on straightways added another layer of skill to the game and that I kind of preferred it when Mario Kart titles weren't so luck based.

Do you think they'll ever bring back the old mini turbo/drifting system?

I didn't know they changed / removed the power slide (the actual term, by the way) in 7. O.o Wow, the more I hear of MK7 the more I am kinda grateful my store hasn't gotten a copy in yet.

It's actually the same in MKWii...

Haven't played it. :/

No! It's annoying, you shouldn't go faster based on how fast you can mash the control pad.

I don't really care which one they use as long as they don't change it every game, making me have to get used to it again.

I liked it.

I used to infuriate my friends by being the only one who knew about snaking. Some actually complained that I was cheating because "you can only do that on corners!". The fools.

I still own them all at MK though.

It was more annoying than anything. Snaking made a large portion of the Mario Kart difficulty vanish. And as Super Leaf said, I'd rather them not bring back something that based skill on how fast you could mash on the D-pad.

i personally like drifting. snaking looks too dominant
