Will the Fairy type stop Dragon being overpowered/overused like it's meant to?

Well, assuming what's rumoured is correct (Fairy resists Dragon as well as being super effective against it like is confirmed already), will the type be enough to stop Dragon types being overused in the metagame this time around?

Will it cause the likes of Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence and Hydreigion to stop being so overused? Will Fairy types end up on teams everywhere?

What do you think?

Nope. Fairy type won't stop me from using a Dragon type. I mean as long as you have something on your team that beats fairy type, you can still use dragon types.

It won't at all. from the looks of it, most fairy types are going to have stupidly weak stats (with a few exceptions, such as gardevoir) so even with the type advantage, they'll still get stomped by dragons, especially those that have attacks that beat fairy.

Hmm, so far it doesn't seem like there's many Fairy Pokemon, so maybe you don't really have to hide Dragon Pokemon >.> For all we know, Fairy could be the next overpowered Pokemon type! I tried to find what their weakness was but came up with nothing, if there isn't any weaknesses then it could prove my point >.>

If anything I do think they might end up on most trainers parties just for those "other" trainers who think they can have an overpowered team of dragon type.
I might consider one or two myself.
Though I don't really think it will stop others from using the dragon type Pokemon.

They're switch Gardevoir to Fairy type? Dude that's just lame.

Yeah they switched it annnd

I think there will be an explosion of people with Fairy types in the beginning before slowing down.

I believe its Fire from what I heard.

Hmm, somewhere I looked said that, another said they are only weak against themselves o.o Fire does seem more likely, and if this does happen it doesn't really mean there is much point using Fairy besides from beating Dragon Pokemon :P

It's no rumor..the dragon type will be weak against fairy, but the fairy type is weak against fire. Most dragon types have access to fire type moves so it should be a nice balance. They'll definitely be more effective than ice types were against dragon types as most ice types are very easy to take down and have a multitude of weaknesses (over exaggeration).

Now the fairy type may be added to some older gen pokemon, but only as a secondary type, not primary. Secondary typing gives advantages in battle BIG time whether stats are good or not. Though I think the more game balancing aspect will be pokemon outside of the fairy type learning fairy moves (or TMs). to be able to counter the more powerful dragon tactics.

It will definitely slow it down but never stop it. I'm very happy though that fire is super effective (at least that is what the rumors say) because I almost always choose the fire type starter unless I already have it on a previous game.

I remember that every time I use a Durant against a Hydreigon the Durant uses X Scissors and wins, so in this case not all Dragons are overpowered to begin with. Garchomp and Haxorus are an exception because only ice and Dragon moves are "super-effective". Since TMs are now infinite (which is great by the way), moves are easier to teach like flamethrower to Hydreigon. Fairy types will allow me to humiliate Hydreigons everywhere (sry my Hydreigon) by making them less overpowered and me more happy. This will still not stop people from using Lv.1 Arons but Mega Evolutions might help (like Kanguskhan). Fire is the real overpowered type (w/drought), or is it Water (Politoed w/Drizzle), or is it grass (Serperior w/Contrary... Nah not that one).

fairys suck (i mean zero2 was beaten by one) but i think maybe there could be someting like magic type :zelda:
