Will there ever be a Dark type gym in the series?

As of this point in time, there are have been this many gyms based on different Pokemon types:

  1. 3 Rock type gyms
  2. 4 Water type gyms
  3. 4 Electric type gyms
  4. 3 Grass type gyms
  5. 2 Poison type gyms
  6. 2 Psychic type gyms
  7. 3 Fire type gyms
  8. 2 Ground type gyms
  9. 3 Flying type gyms
  10. 2 Bug type gyms
  11. 3 Normal type gyms
  12. 2 Ghost type gyms
  13. 3 Fighting type gyms
  14. 2 Steel type gyms
  15. 3 Ice type gyms
  16. 2 Dragon type gyms
But absolutely no Dark type gyms as of this point in time. Some elite four members (Karen, Sidney and Grimsley) specialise in Dark types, but no gyms or gym leaders for whatever reason.

Will this change soon? Will Game Freak add a Dark type gym to the games at long last?
 
Perhaps they could make a change and make a gym leader dark type, and replace the elite four trainer with a Fairy type.
It would be really neat to to battle a dark type gym leader.
 
Dark type is just too awesome it doesn't deserve anything below Elite 4.

Maybe they will since Dark types are getting even weaker. (You can thank fairies for that.) Yes, Scrafty, I'm looking at you.
