Will there ever be new types in future Pokemon games?

That recent rumour posted here talked about the next gen game on 3DS having some new types, but is this likely to ever really happen?

Or have Game Freak basically decided the Pokemon types in use now are the only ones that will ever be included?

What do you think, are new Pokemon types a possibility any more?

well its balanced now if they add another type or two or three there might be a complete imbalance like in Gen 1

They won't add any more types. Dark and Steel were only added to bring balance to the types, and adding further types would just unbalance it again. Not to mention it would just be gratuitous. If they were going to continue to add new types then they would have done so by now.

u watched that movie too ha it was funny when the black dude with the weird hair came in i laughed so hard like when he screams :off topic: but anyways if game freak adds new types they will need to balance it i think they might have one like it

I agree, it would unbalance the types. I don't think they will. Not in the near future that is.
