Vagrant Story was a very unique game by Square that came out near the end of the life of the PlayStation. It was a deviation from the usual Square RPG because it had a very different combat system. It was a cross between an action and a turn-based system. It allowed players to be able to take their time and formulate a strategy while also making players be constantly on their feet.
The cutscenes weren't the standard Square affair too. Only the intro cinematics were CG. The rest of the cinematics used the game's engine.
The story? It's a tale for adults and may not interest young players but it's intricate and interesting and really worth playing through. The characters are diverse and have strong personalities. Do you think that if Vagrant Story were released now, it would be a hit?
