Wired or Wireless Mouse?

I prefer wired mice, but I have tried the MX Master once and now it is the only mouse I use for anything and it only comes wireless.

Wireless so things don't get in the way. That being said I have a laptop so I just use the pad.

I have a wireless mouse now. Initially, I didn't like the fact that it was battery-operated either. But it turned out to be an insignificant disadvantage compared to the usability.

The benefits of wireless mice are exactly the same as any wireless device: freedom of movement and ease of use. With a wireless mouse, you don't have to worry about jammed or tangled cables, and you can easily move away from your desk if you want to.

I prefer wired as often as possible. My new Logitech ergonomic TrackBall didn't come with that option anymore. The people at Best Buy looked at me like it was the oddest question they heard of when I asked if they carried a WIRED mouse.
While you have the convenience & portability with a wireless, that convenience comes with a price. Wireless tends to act up so much more. Seems the advances they make in technology only advances their pocketbooks. I've had to buy a new mouse several times as it kept being faulty. I read reviews on many people having that same problem.

I'm surpised that mouse didn't come wired, its not like you need to move it to worry about wire tangle.

It is wireless mouse for me. I don't understand the reason I should keep on making use of wired mouse in 2022 when using the wireless ones make life easier for me.

Unless you sit far away from your PC, its better to use wired so there is no lag or need to worry about batteries.

The batteries tend to last about a year. Then there's the rechargeable ones. I like how people advocate wireless things and rechargeable batteries, but when you mention a wireless mouse, all of a sudden people go apeshit and act like it's the most inconvenient thing ever.

I use the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, which is interchangeably wired and wireless. I like using it wirelessly to prevent the cord from dragging or getting caught on anything. And when the mouse starts blinking red to indicate low battery, I'll plug it in and use it wired

The batteries always die at a bad time though it seems like.

I haven't had that experience. You can monitor your battery life on your computer. For rechargeable ones, you can plug it in before you go to bed or work. The ones I have that use batteries last over a year. I own like 4 Bluetooth mice, but I'm also a weirdo that owns several computers.

So if you can monitor the battery life on Windows and Mac OS, and you let the battery die, it's your own fault at that point. So it's like whining about your phone or laptop battery running out of battery when there's an indicator letting you know what percentage you're at.

Do people still make use of wired mouse or even headset?

The very moment the wireless gadgets came out, I left the wired one's immediately.

At my job we gotta worry about emanation security, so no Bluetooth. At home I use them a lot, except for my mixing headphones.

The gaming community loves wired stuff, partially due to the amount of time they spend on their computer, and the other is because a lot of them think they have the skills to notice fractions of a millisecond of input lag, or have outdated knowledge.

I think some batteries like rechargeable batteries can lose it charge after many months. Batteries can die at inconvenient times when users need to use a older computer they rarely use to do a few tasks like using an old printer, or using very old software and games which only work on a Windows XP PC which they rarely use. But, they can't use their wireless mouse until they replace the dead batteries which may of lost its charge over time.

It's wireless for me... At least I can easily stone someone with it if annoyed... Don't mind me... Wireless because you can move around with it

Wouldn't you want a jagged hard mouse for stoning as if it was from the Stone Age? The wire can be used for whipping, something of which I'm sure at least one person tried before.

I like that wired mouses are more lightweight because it does not contain a battery which add weight to a mouse which can make my hand more tired when I use my PC's mouse for many hours.
