Because David Jaffe thinks that Nintendo should sell the company and its brands to Disney and talks about their success with Star Wars and Marvel as the reason why. In his own words:

I say this with love as a fan of Nintendo. But if I was Nintendo, I’d be sitting my a** down trying to figure out how to sell my company to Walt Disney, because if you look at sort of what they have done sort of the reverence they’ve had towards Marvel, if you look at what seems to be happening with Star Wars and the Lucas brand they’ve acquired, they clearly understand marketing, they clearly understand their audience. To imagine going to a Disney Land park and having an entire land – like not just like Tomorrow Land but others like Nintendo Land – and sort of integrating that into that world, doing more with those brands.

So would you want this? Or do you think Disney would ruin Nintendo if they owned the company?

When I was a kid my favorite developer was Enix. Stonewoot's was Squaresoft. I used to joke and say "imagine if they fused how awesome it would be!". Years later, as we all know, they did just that and ruined almost every game series from both companies (with the exception of the DS games of those series for some reason). I don't see how Disney and Marvel have anything to do with being a good example considering the license agreement for Disney stated that they had to keep things the way they were with the Marvel license and not tone it down at all. However, I don't see Miyamoto doing a great job right now either, so it is a toss-up.

Basic point I am attempting to make is good concepts aren't always so good when actually created. I don't see Disney owning Nintendo mas a good thing. For one, that means Disney characters no longer on Xbox and PS4 which means Disney would have to be damned certain that whatever they do with development of Nintendo consoles brings in enough profit to sustain the loss of those developers.

I think they could probably do a better job at selling the Wii U than Nintendo is doing right now, that's for sure. Disney is a marketing behemoth and Nintendo would gain a lot from joining them. We'd probably see movies with Nintendo characters, and they'd probably be pretty decent. Disney is mostly about the money though so I wonder if they'd spin off the console business.

I don't see why this would be a good idea. As Benoit said, Disney focuses on marketing and movies, and making money off merchandise from those outlets. Gaming is a very different side of things, and I don't know if Disney could handle that well. Traditionally if there's a game involving Disney characters (I'm looking at Kingdom Hearts specifically) Disney gives a large game manufacturing company permission to use their characters, so long as they can veto anything deemed too non-Disney. Honestly I'm not the biggest fan of a lot of Disney based games even then, with Kingdom Hearts being the only series I've ever latched onto. Giving Disney direct control over Nintendo wouldn't work then, as they have shown that though they want Disney based games, they don't want to make them themselves, which in my mind is reason enough to not give them one of the largest game making companies in the world.

If Disney could let Nintendo operate the same as it is now, just with a more robust marketing department, that would be awesome. Nintendo would lock up all future Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney games.

Kingdom Hearts, Star Wars Battlefront, etc would all be landing exclusively on Nintendo systems. That might just balance out EA shunning Nintendo.

No way! However, I would really like to see some Disney and Nintendo crossovers (Among others as well), because we really need to have many, many more Nintendo crossovers. But that's just me.

No. Disney already bought Star Wars. Unless they prove themselves really worthy and make super amazing games, no.

OH YEAH!!! A bunch of hidden 3D porn!! Thats what Im talkin about!! lmfao

If you are referring to things like the words that are in the clouds of the movie Lion King then I suggest you research it. The actual letters are SFX which were to tell the Sound Effects Team to place sounds for it there.Well, that is what Disney says, anyway. And they removed the Little Mermaid cover. but not the priest's part lol
