.xxx domain approved for use

I wouldn't know anything about this subject or anything, but there's a new top level domain available for producers of adult websites. Soon, purvevors of internet representations of naked ladies will be able to label their sites ".xxx" as opposed to ".com" or ".edu." ICANN, the corporation that coordinates the Internet's naming system, approved the TLD for sites that display adult content.

Use of the .xxx domain is voluntary, but according to the company that will be selling the domain names, it will "provide a place online for adult entertainment providers and their service providers who want to be part of our voluntary self regulatory community." It would also make the filtering of adult content easier for creators of censor-ware and snooping girlfriends.

I don't know about this because I don't create adult websites,

But, those domain names with the best keywords are going to be sold out quickly for sure...

Wait! Are they banning normal domain names with this type of content?

Or is this new top level domain is just an extra domain name that can be used?

I think not many porn site owners will want to register .xxx since it is not as well known compared to .com, .org, .net, .tv . .xxx probably have too many early registers unless the cost is lower like .info domain names which never really took off.

Porn sites will still mostly use .com or .tv if it has streaming video.

Indeed, there might be an online adult film schools thesedays... B) or a course in college which is about watching porn since there are a lot of weird and wacky courses in some colleges.
