Yahoo isn’t having the best of times these days particularly since it announced that it was closing five offices and laying off a significant chunk of its workforce. Questions are now being asked about the company’s future and whether or not there’s a company out there that’s willing to acquire Yahoo. Until that happens it has to keep the ship floating and that requires cutting loose anything that might drag you down and, in this case, that’s Yahoo Games.

This news is sad news for people who play games on Yahoo.

My parents used to be huge fans of it, shame its shutting down.

What a shame. I'm not really into playing browser gaming however I have played around with yahoo game years ago in high school.

I think Yahoo Games was mostly popular in Canada, America, England, and other western countries. But, now most people who play web browser games use Facebook which has web browser games like Candy Crush Saga, Bejeweled, Farmville, etc.

Well, I guess I'm the only one who has never heard of this service...
Aren't the only one. Babies don't know, probably allot of young children under 10 probably won't know. My old flocks probably won't know as they are in their 60s.

I remember in the past I heard about it and tried to play, but was forced to sign up to play. I never did play tho. I think a group of us were going to play a card game like Uno, but that was some years back so I'm not sure if it's Yahoo, MSN or another flash game site :p (I think it's Yahoo tho).

Really sad to see yahoo games go out. back in the 90s it was quite popular. But these days we have better browser games.

If there had been money going towards it then it might be still here

I think if the current Yahoo boss was a bigger fan of video games, Yahoo Games will still be around, and have done better.

The current Yahoo boss spent a lot of Yahoo's money on buying Tumblr, and Aviate which is a Google Android Homescreen launcher app.

I bet, one of the reasons for Facebook has so many more successful games like Farmville, Bejeweled and Candy Crush Saga on its site is because the boss of Facebook who is Mark Zuckergberg is a fan of Civilization game series according to http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/22/8643065/mark-zuckerberg-video-games-good-for-kids . Facebook boss, and young workers are most likely Gamers, and know games are one of the most popular online activities which people enjoy doing online, and people are willing to spend a lot of time, and money on online games like Candy Crush Saga and Clash of Clans where there are people who spend hundreds of dollars on in-app purchases.
