You can expect the next Amazon Fire Phone to be less expensive

 Amazon SVP of devices David Limp said that Amazon “didn’t get the price right.” When the Fire Phone debuted, it cost essentially the same as an iPhone: $200 on a 2-year AT&T contract, odd for a company which thrives on undercutting its competition.

Limp hinted that there will be future Fire Phones, and Amazon is going to “keep iterating software features to get it better and better,” most likely at a lower price next time, just like it did with its Kindle products.

It's good to know that there would be cheaper phones with faster performance. I think most people won't buy expensive phone from Amazon because people will buy an iPhone because Amazon is best known for selling cheaper tablets like the Kindle Fire, and affordable settop boxes like the Fire TV.

Interested to see how low the price can go and hopefully they can get with more providers. The last Fire phone looked quite good but it isn't enough to tempt me to get one.

I think making the Fire Phone an AT&T exclusive was a mistake for Amazon since few people would switch cell phone service providers to use a new phone.

I like the 3D screen, and cameras on the Fire TV, and the Auto-tilt scrolling feature. The Fire fly feature where the phone can find products when you point the camera at a product is pretty cool as well.

If an App you are looking for is not available on the Amazon App store, you can sideload Android .APK files onto the Fire Phone, and manually install them on to the Fire Phone.

There are now tablets which can now make phone calls, and texts, so a cell phone, or smartphone is not really needed if you rarely make calls, or don't mind using a bigger tablet as a phone.
