It is nice that the PS5 comes with a stand.
I feel the stand may also help a little with cooling in the vertical position because it lifts the console a little bit higher up the ground.
It is kind of annoying that the stand does not come pre-installed on the console since a few people may not know how to install it.
A lot of desktop tower computers from HP, Acer, Dell, etc come with the rubber feat pre-installed on the computer case, so I feel Sony could of requested the factory to install the stand before shipping, or Sony could of designed the stand into the case's panel or base.

specially if a person has pets.
It's honestly extremely easy to attach the stand to the console. If someone can't do it, they're gonna struggle with gaming in general lol

It does look extremely simple to attach the stand for most people. There are some people who may of never used a screwdriver, or hand tools, so they may need to read the instruction manual or watch a video on using a screw driver.
Or kids.
