2 boys, 1 girl

Is it only me or does groups of people on TV, or the hereos always seem to consist of 2 boys and 1 girl?
Harry Potter (Harry, Ron, Hermoine), Pokemon Season 1, 3, 4(?)(Ash, Brock, May)(Ash, Brock, Dawn), Hannah Montana, Percy Jackson, Team Rocket, and porbably many more.

Not in many of the shows I watch. Or games I play. Doctor Who usually just has one person for a companion to the Doctor, not two, and they could be of any gender. And I'd say about half of all classic UK comedy shows pretty much have an all male cast.

SoOo... the classic formula for a plot in a movie is boy gets girl. What better way to add drama and interesting things to a movie than to make the girl have to choose between two suitors. There are only seven stories told. The most popular is the "Boy gets Girl" the second and my favorite is "Man vs Nature".
