Do you prefer company transport?

I do but sometimes I don't....

It can be a pain, when you need to leave early and you don't have to worry about traffic and such when you are using the company transport....

So what do you guys think?

Do you like it?
 
Usually it means transportation provided by the company.

it's pretty popular here in the states pending on the company. The company, if they offer anything, will either fully fund you for any gas mileage incurred or give you a company car to use. Some will go as far as buying you a car for your own use.

Big companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook also provide a company employee bus service with free wi-fi wireless internet service and comfortable seats.

Some higher ranking employees at big companies like Apple and government workers like the governor, senators, and judges have a driver who drive for them.

Our company isn't that big and our transportation isn't free either. But they do provide Wi-Fi in the bus.

I use it because I don't have to change buses everyday to reach my office and then to my room

Having a seat or a place to stand without needing to stand very close to someone can be more comfortable on a company bus. Unfortunately, sometimes public buses can be packed full of riders where accidentally touching other passengers is very common when the bus driver let too many people on the bus, or the bus driver hits the brakes hard, and people get pushed against other people when they are falling forward.

Air conditioning on company buses is nice. I been on a few buses without good air conditioning in the summer, and it can get super hot.

Yeah...I got a bit of ocd of touching so it would be a nightmare for me. I am glad that our buses are not that packed.
India and hot weather are the same xD

I would die without AC

I also feel uncomfortable accidentally touching random strangers especially on a hot day where their skin maybe sweaty if they sweat a lot on hot days.

I watched on the local News that the roads where melting in India a few years ago.

I imagine not having AC can be very uncomfortable in a bus in the hotter parts of India because the metal body of some buses can get very hot where it feels like an oven especially when the bus is not moving, so hot air takes longer to escape the open windows. Buses with plastic seats and no-AC are the hottest where it sometimes feel like you are being fried by sitting on the hot plastic seats.

Indian weather is always hot. And not many buses have AC here and that includes my company transport well. Sometimes I feel like I am getting burned alive or something. They should seriously consider taking some measures.

I heard Indian weather is very hot, but I did not know it is always hot like a dessert. I think having AC in buses can be a good idea since I hear news stories of younger children, dogs, and disabled people sometimes fainting when left in a hot car which is not moving, and closed windows. Installing AC on a bus may also make the bus safer for the bus driver since the driver is more comfortable, so he may focus more on safely driving the bus instead of driving too fast to the last bus stop, so he can more quickly drink a cold cup of water after reaching the last stop.

That would be quite expensive and not many people can afford the ticket, if they install ac of every bus. So that's not exactly possible here

It is unfortunate AC is expensive in India. Having a few public buses with AC can be a good idea because some passengers have heat related body problems like sweating too much and bad body odor when it is very hot. A bus ticket is usually cheaper than a taxi in most countries, so passengers who pay for a more expensive bus with AC ticket are still saving money compared to hiring a taxi.

I see. Hiring a taxi is a bit more expensive here. Let's see, for the same distance, the non AC bus ticket is 25 bucks and ac bus ticket is 80 bucks and the shared poll rate is 100 bucks for the car

Even by European standards 25 bucks for any kind of transportation excluding taxi this is way too expensive.
18 euro (22 bucks) is commonly enough for a train ride to the other side of the country if the country in question isn't too big.

Even more true in Japan; a simple 1000 yen (equaling 9 bucks) can bring you from one end of Tokyo to the other using multiple train and metro lines.

Are these bus and taxi prices in India's Rupee money?

$25-80 US Dollars or Canadian dollars for taking a bus is expensive except for buses which travel to another town or neighboring country. I think it cost about $5 or less to take a public bus or subway in most cities in US and Canada.
