And if you did, how is it as a game?

Is it better than the reviews say?

I sure did! I haven't seen the reviews but so far I've enjoyed the game. The levels are fun and it has some really good music, especially when the Yoshio's change. It's really fun, I was not expecting to use gyroscope. It's fairly easy and the bosses are fun. I really liked the artwork but just didn't like how the plot was made for some reason (the stork). I don't really mind the kid aspect of the game, I really enjoy them because it feels natural. Well that was my opinion. :)

I bought it, I'm still in world 3-1. Haven't had much time on my hands to play it. I think it's a decent game to play, thought the gyroscope controls were going to be bad but I haven't had any trouble with it.
I actually haven't read any reviews for the game. Was it given a bad score?

A lot of video reviews call it fun but say it falls short in some aspects and never feels too new like the name implies. People have mixed feeling because of the music and graphics.

I had no problem with the graphics. The music does get annoying after awhile though. It could have been better imo.

Didn't buy it. Probably not gonna. To me it's just a worse remake of the snes game. No creativity. Could've been much more. Stupid story.

Maybe if the price drops about 50%.

AS far as I can tell it's just new levels for the first one. Remember the first trailer? If that was all you saw you could have said it was a remake and no-one would have batted an eye-lid.

I plan to buy it soon.

I'm also tempted to get that Yoshi 3DS XL, but I'm trying to save my money for a Windows 8.1 tablet to replace my iPad and old Windows 7 laptop this summer.

I've been enjoying it so far. The graphics are good, though I prefer the original game's graphics style much more. The music design is lousy though; some songs are good, if a bit repetitive, but there are a couple ear-bleedingly bad ones in there too. Overall the level designs have been solid. I'm only on World 4, and the difficulty has a nice easy slope to it. Really, getting through the level itself is generally not too hard. Going back and getting all the Stars, Coins and Flowers is what's going to be hard. Some places it's especially tough not to get hit by something and lose some stars.

The only thing that really annoys me about it so far is the egg shooting controls. In the original game, when you pushed the button to get Yoshi to start aiming an egg, the little aiming reticule started going up and down immediately. In the new one there's a very slight delay that feels really unnatural. Other then that Yoshi controls perfectly, and everything's pretty fluid. Even the gyroscope levels aren't terrible at all, if a little weird... It's like Yoshi is stationary and you turn the world itself around him. Feels funky, but it works just fine surprisingly.

Overall it's been a good game so far that I've enjoyed playing! While it's definitely not as good as the first game, if you liked the original you'd likely enjoy it.

I'm going to buy a copy of the game hopefully soon but if not, it's most likely that I'll get it this Summer.

Man when all the hype over this game started I didn't think I would be making the purchase, but right now I'm thinking that I might get it. I kinda wish it had more than just mario though, like Yoshi's Island DS.

I got it the first day it was released. I like how many of the things return from the original game (e.g. watermelons). However, many things were dropped from this game (e.g. the scoring system and the bonus challenges). But it is a good game.

I was super excited when I found the Watermelons and Monkeys! Although the Monkeys don't drown anymore if you throw them into the water anymore... They still thrash for a while, but then they go to land and run off. Seems like a silly thing to change, but maybe that wasn't 'kid friendly' enough? T_T; So far I've been fairly happy about everything that's returned, but I do miss the bonus challenges at the end of the course if it landed on a flower. And Fuzzies.

I not buy it! :homer: It's stupid this game! :waluigi: :banghead:

It's for 3ds! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it seems that I actually bought it (my mom actually bought it, I'm going to pay her back) last night at 11:00 P.M So far (as I played it this morning, though I'm still getting used to the controls,) I find it pretty good. I already finished world 1 levels 1-3 100%.

I was really tempted to, but I'm currently trying to only buy 5 games throughout the whole year (bought 3 so far, eep), and this one didn't make the cut.

Maybe next year~
