Yes, it would be nice that more tablets would have removable batteries like most older smartphones and cell phones.

Well in some cases I think they should have removable battery but on the other hand I don't really see what the issue is. Many phones you can't take the battery out anyway.

A removable battery maybe useful for making repairs easier because you just need to slide it out to replace a broken battery. It would be convenient to carry extra charged batteries to replace empty batteries rather than plugging in the tablet to a charger. Being able to upgrade the battery to a battery which can hold more power can also be useful for users who use their tablet a lot.

Be nice, I know my mom's kindle is not holding a charge well these days. It just be easier to throw in a new battery than buy a whole new tablet.

I see where you are coming from, but how easy would it be to find a new battery when it time to replace it? I know that you can get aftermarket ones but I rather get one from the device vendor (who made the phone etc) and that may not be possible after some time.

Batteries are not removable because the lobbyists don't want it.
Capitalism these days means "limit the consumer as much as possible, so once something breaks, they'll be forced to buy a new one".

And 3 year guarantees are a socialist extra you get atop of that, to make it seem less painful.

It's too bad that the Kindle Fire doesn't use AA or AAA batteries like the Sega Game Gear handheld which can run for 3 to 5 hours on 6 AA batteries.

You can sometimes very easily find the official battery by using eBay, Amazon, and the official website for the parts maker.

If the battery is from a popular more expensive tablets like the Apple iPad Air, it maybe easier to find official replacement batteries.

But, for less popular tablets made by Chinese brands like Hisense, it would be harder to find replacement batteries because most people who buy cheap tablets usually recycle or throw them in the trash when they break.

That's the issue, it can be hit and miss when it comes to getting replacement batteries. Also they could only be sold for a short time like I said before.

If a user buy a cheap Chinese tablet, or cheaper Windows tablet, sometimes it can be cheaper to buy a whole new tablet with a newer operating system like Windows 10 or Google Android 7.0, and better specs like a faster CPU, better wi-fi adapter, and more RAM and storage.

International shipping can cost a lot if you want the battery shipped to you in a few days or less.

Replacement parts like laptop batteries can be very expensive as well if they are rare, and people still are still willing to pay a high price for them.

Well, removable batteries are nice...but if a battery can last a very long time... then I don't mind tablets not having removable batteries.
