Being aggressive and violent has been said to being part of some gamers daily lives. Some believe that playing some games will make one become aggressive. Do you agree with such notion?

I think only if you are already predisposed to those sorts of emotions/actions then you could argue that gaming could heighten or bring out those emotions in those who already are predisposed to them. But they don’t make people violent in the way the mainstream media often likes to make out.

This makes me wonder the reason the mainstream media are making such agenda against video games.

It's on a case-by-case basis. A game may be bad like with the type of stuff AVGN had to deal with. The player may not understand the mechanics of the said game they first got (like with kids). The internet gameplay of the game may have noticeable lag or the internet is slow and non-responsive. However, there are plenty of workarounds like learning the games with experience. Buying games you know you will play and like, and avoiding or trading games that don't work with you rather than applying a nondescript, inaccurate blanket statement that has no value for most basis.

I also think playing games based on recommendation is a key factor one can consider in order to avoid some of those things you mentioned. I would want to get games that have less horror scenes for my kids instead of letting them make choices for themselves.

If someone who's recommending games for you is into playing odd games, it's definitely not going to be great recommendations for your kids.

This is where parental guidance comes into play. A parent should know the type of games the kids are playing.

I don't think games affect people's aggression level because a lot of non-aggressive people play games with violence, and they usually don't become aggressive and hurt other people after playing the game.

In most cases that's how it usually works but there are some exceptional cases.
