The biggest gaming expo of the year is just months away and we’re expecting some amazing games to be announced at the expo by some of the major companies in the industry. Every year, many companies from all over the world showcase their best work but this time around, many big companies won’t be attending this event. However, we’re still excited about the expo and we’re expecting a lot of phenomenal games at the E3 2020.
The Entertaining Software Association confirmed the names of the major companies who are likely to a part of this year’s E3 expo and also those who won’t be a part of E3 2020. Here are some of the publishers that might or might not show up at E3 2020.
Sony
One of the biggest publishers in the industry, Sony is not attending the E3 expo this year and this is the second time in a row. The main reason for not showing up is quite obvious that Sony is putting everything into their next-gen console, PlayStation 5. There are only a handful of AAA titles that will be released on PlayStation4 later this year with the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Ghost of Tsushima and few others but most of the major games are releasing in 2020 after the release of PlayStation 5.
Sony hasn’t officially announced the PlayStation 5 yet and many fans were expecting that they might see the official PlayStation 5 announcement at the E3 expo this year but it seems like Sony will be eyeing some different event to announce their next console.
Ubisoft
Ubisoft has been one of the biggest contributors to E3 expo. Ubisoft has officially confirmed that they are coming to this year’s E3 expo as well. This time around, Ubisoft is expected to reveal 5 new games that will release in the next few months. Many rumors suggest that Ubisoft will reveal their next game in the Assassin’s Creed series and it might be called ‘Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok’.

Furthermore, Ubisoft will be releasing Watch Dogs 3, Skull & Bones and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine this year so it’s possible that we might see some gameplay of these games. In case you’re wondering, Skull & Bones was supposed to release in 2019 but due to some technical reason, developers decided to delay the release date.
Nintendo
E3 officials have also confirmed that Nintendo will also be a part of this year’s E3 event. In the past few months, there have been many rumors about a new Nintendo Switch that might hit our shelves in the coming months but Nintendo confirmed that they do not have any plans for a new console this year so don’t expect a new Nintendo switch just yet. In other news, due to coronavirus in china, there will be a shortage of Nintendo consoles supply in the European and US markets as well.
Nintendo is expected to reveal the gameplay of Breath of Wild 2, Bayonetta 2 and few more but we might get to see some unexpected games that could also make an appearance at the expo.
Electronic Arts (EA)
Unfortunately, EA won’t be a part of this year’s E3 but they will be having their own EA Play event just before the E3 event. Fans around the world were probably expecting some new AAA titles this year but it seems like EA won’t be at E3 this year to announce another Madden, FIFA or Battlefield. It’s likely that EA will be holding their games till the release of next-gen consoles and we might get to see some new titles at the end of this year.
