Some of the issues the fans have with the english translation:

Their awareness of it doesn’t change the fact that the NA localization unnecessarily alters the dialogue in order to push the love triangle. And his claims as to why he did don’t excuse it. Culture isn’t what it used to be. The LTD is antiquated and takes away from the story.

there's a lot of lines that are not accurate to the jpn version, it's like they were trying to change for the sake of change or fix what's not broken.
and it's just the ENG localization doing this

A decent portion of the localization was unnecessary or just outright changed certain scenarios. Overall I think they did pretty good, but some of it had me scratching my head
