I read the books, the ones that were finished anyway. R.R. Martin is one of the slowest authors of all time. He told 1 or 2 guys at HBO the ending to the whole thing in case he dies before it can be completed.

My provider does free weekends with some of it's paid channels. You know so people get hooked and buy them. That's how I got the first season watched without paying a cent.

But it's based off novels that take place in an alternate world. So maybe that's the loophole that allows DS to enjoy this show. lol
