In my experience, I have RAM/Memory which broke after a few years of installing it, and some DDR SDRAM RAM which still work after 10 years or longer in an old computer from 2002.
It is hard to predict how long RAM/Memory last before it breaks, but it can last many years.
Sometimes, you never know when RAM is going bad until your computer does not turn on anymore. Bad RAM which is going bad can cause your computer to occassionally crash where you think it is a Windows, or software problem because it does not crash all the time.
