Is it strange that some Gaming Smartphones have 8GB of RAM like a PS4 and Xbox One

Yes, it feels strange seeing that there are Gaming Smartphones and more expensive smartphones like the Razer Gaming Smartphone having 8GB of RAM like the PS4 and Xbox One which also has 8GB of RAM. I probably would not believe that phones will have 8GB of RAM in 2019 if someone told me a few...

Will Popular Offline Electronics stores still sell Laptop RAM/SO-DIMM RAM in the future?

I think someday most offline popular electronics computers stores like Best Buy may stop selling Laptop RAM also called SO-DIMM RAM in the future. I'm not sure if there would be enough buyers who buy SO-DIMM laptop RAM because of fewer laptops coming with upgradeable laptop RAM slots. More...

Is buying a cheap laptop with 4gb or more RAM important?

In the past, more people bought laptops with less RAM, and upgrade their own RAM which they bought for a cheaper price on websites like Amazon and Newegg rather than pay hundreds of dollars for the laptop model with 8GB of RAM rather than buying a laptop with 2GB or less RAM, and upgrading their...

Why are there very few store bought computers which come with 5GB of RAM?

5GB of a RAM does not look as good in computer sales advertisements. But, 6GB of RAM, or 8GB of RAM looks better on an PC ad, Many people are willing to spend an extra $20 to $50 money for 6GB to 8GB RAM. People may choose to buy a computer with 4GB and less RAM because it is cheaper than a...

Has Adding lots of RAM to PC became a gimmick/trick people into buying slower PCs + tech?

I think some computer makers sometimes install 8GB or more RAM to try to sell their slower computers with a slower Intel Celeron or Core i3 to less tech savvy users who may more likely buy a computer with 8GB of RAM instead of 4GB of RAM. RAM does not cost much money these days where you can...

Why do Windows PC makers sell PCs with uncommon low RAM capacities like 1.5GB,3GB, and 6GB?

I think Windows PC makers sell PCs with 1.5GB, 3GB, 5GB, and 6GB of RAM to try to use all their 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB RAM module sticks which maybe taking up a lot of warehouse space at their PC factory, and PC parts storage warehouses. After companies use all their 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB RAM...

Are there too many different RAM stick capacity sizes like 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB?

Yes, I feel there are too many sizes of RAM, and it maybe better for companies to just to release a few small sizes like 4GB and above, and a few large sizes like 8GB and above sizes sticks of RAM instead of releasing many different sizes of RAM sticks.

How long does RAM/Memory last before it breaks?

In my experience, I have RAM/Memory which broke after a few years of installing it, and some DDR SDRAM RAM which still work after 10 years or longer in an old computer from 2002. It is hard to predict how long RAM/Memory last before it breaks, but it can last many years.

Do you think the price of RAM/Memory will cost the same as USB Flash drive memory storage?

I think it will take a while for the price of 8GB of DDR4 RAM which cost about $70 to be same price as a USB 8GB Flash drive which cost about $10. But, eventually the price of 8GB of RAM maybe $10 when companies figure out how to make RAM more affordable without lowering the amount of RAM on...

Good idea to upgrade to a new CPU and RAM when replacing a broken old Motherboard?

If you can afford to buy a new CPU, RAM, and better motherboard which work for your new CPU, it can be a good idea to replace the CPU and motherboard with a better CPU, motherboard, and RAM if your old DDR2 RAM does not work in newer motherboard which typically use DDR3 and DDR4 RAM. Old CPUs...

Is upgradeable/replaceable RAM and hard drive still important on a laptop for your needs?

Yes, upgradeable/replaceable RAM and hard drives are still important when buying a laptop, or any other full size computer which is not a tablet. But, if a PC costs $50-200, I may still buy the a PC even if the storage and RAM are not upgradeable because it is a good deal, and don't plan to...
