How often do you use cash?

We always use & carry cash. We don’t believe in credit cards. Only have a debit card which we rarely use. I learned early on to pay cash. We are debt free, mortgage free. Financially secure. We live within our means with only the occasional splurge. Do I think paying with cash helped? Yes. It’s too easy to go over a budget when you use a card. Yes, you may get points & cashback, but if your card is stolen, ALL your money would be stolen via identity theft. Whereas just the money we had in our wallet would be.
You're right about how cyber crime would leave you penny less if you ever fall victim with your card involved. It's the only fear I have with making use of cards.

I have a credit card that I only use if it will save time or I have too much anxiety to hang around waiting. In gerneral I carry cash. I don't have much in a bank account ever. I keep a lot in a investing broker account and the rest in a safe in my place. Sometimes I even pay places a couple of thousand when buying something large.

As of today, most shops have stopped accepting the old currencies that's been changed when deadline was 31st and the damn new currency isn't in circulation lol. We are having a full cashless policy in effect.

So how's this turning out for you? Doesn't look any better than what we went through from what I saw on the news but we at least got UPI out of it.

It's not been good truly. Our government is the most confused set of human beings in the world. 10 days, the Supreme Court made a ruling that all old notes still be used as a legal tender but the Central Bank didn't abide by the ruling till after 10 days before they made a statement accepting the ruling. Till date, we still haven't seen an influx of the old notes or new notes in the economy.

Hope the new notes at least look and feel good as a consolation price.

I don't normally carry cash on me, not anymore anyway. Since my hubby and I both have direct deposit, our money goes directly into our bank account and we never touch the money itself.

They don't. In fact, they look horrible.

Look at the new and old notes. Our CBN just bleached and coloured it. That's it!

Going cashless is great especially when the banking system have less issues with transfers hanging and all of that.

Unfortunately, it's one of the biggest challenges we have with using banks in our country today.

Imagine having to buy your own money from the POS merchants. 20k to pay extra 4k charges.

It has gotten that bad? Gush! Are we talking about a local or foreign currency?

I try to keep some cash with me, all the time. It's like a backup plan when the card doesn't work or when the network is bad.....
Well, not many people use cash these days...but oh well xD

Not very often. I rarely carry cash on me anymore. I normally just use my debit card to pay for everything.

Frequently while traveling in public transport.
