Too true.. but it is also possible to send the wrong signals when you aren't flirting at all and are only being polite.

One guy followed me all the way home from the supermarket just because I told him that he dropped some money out of his wallet. He then spent the rest of his time following me around the store and to my apartment building. I told him that I wasn't interested and was engaged, and told him to leave me alone but from his perspective, I might as well have been saying, I want to fuck your brains out.

There is a lot of crazy people out there, and so, even turning off the charm isn't a guarantee that you wont be bothered. Even being married and having a huge ring on your finger isn't a deterrent, the only thing that sends the message, is them seeing my husband.

yep indeed, a "gentleman", quoted because he wasn't really one... but yeah, he chatted me up and tried to kiss me and stuff when I said no.

A ring is actually a turn on for most guys nowadays, attraction of the forbidden i guess.
 
Well yeah. I think getting to know someone on line is the same as
getting to know them in person. You get like a weird sort of feeling like
maybe this might not work, but then when you meet up with the person and start
talking to them you realize that its the same person you met online...in most cases.

I don't flirt or even try to be accomodating anymore because apparently it gets taken the wrong way. I used to be friendly because
I modded, but not so much now, and I stopped posting my pictures online too. But at any rate, I don't judge people who do or regard
them as desperate or lonely. I know it's easy to communicate online and signals get crossed.
