Today at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, the company revealed that its very own browser – Microsoft Internet Explorer – will be coming to Xbox 360.

Xbox 360’s iteration of the browser is designed to be the first easy-to-use browser on any game console, and will be integrated with both Microsoft’s search engine, Bing, as well as Kinect. Microsoft’s recently announced SmartGlass will also be fully compatible with 360’s iteration of MSIE.

Microsoft Internet Explore for Xbox 360 will be available this fall.

it will be fail.

Considering that IE sucks as it is, putting it on a console won't improve it. And as GA said, all console browsers are not great at all.

Oh, my name isn't Gaming Lords. lol It's GracefulAssassin, or GA. Anyway, they add this when they could add a useful feature.

Sorry about that . I have no doubt that it could be useful, but I'm not that convinced that I'm going to be using my Xbox to browse the internet when I could use my computer.

I think that IE will be okay for basic stuff like searching Google, Facebook, Twitter, and visiting regular websites. But, I got a feeling if you open up more then 3 tabs it will lag on the Xbox 360 because a desktop browser sometimes uses a lot of RAM when only 1-2 tabs are open, and the 360 only have 256MB of RAM.

I think a mobile web browser like Opera Mini, Dolphin Browser, or the default Android or Apple iPhone Browser would be better then a desktop browser on a console connected to a bigger TV.

Maybe they'll Imrpove it? Well they were given from Internet explorer 6 to internet explorer 9 for the chance to improve it... They can forget about it now

I barely ever use my Xbox it doesn't really matter to me but i just thought I'd say that Microsoft should either drop or do a complete upgrade of IE. I can already imagine all the complaints we'll hear about Microsoft Internet Explorer coming to the Xbox.

I can't see how you think it will be a fail. It is much better than the bing search they have now. That bing search bar is completely useless in my opinion. Would be nice if the browser has divx and flash suppport. This would be as good as when the youtube app came out.

Just tried out the PS3 browser and I can't see my self using it over my iPad or computer so I still don't think browsers on consoles are worth it.

I think what they really want people using IE for, it will be quick enough. They really aren't expecting people to do any hardcore browsing, it looked like the purpose is for searching for movies and TV shows, very simple, specific tasks. Unless you just don't have a computer, very few people are going to turn to their TV and console for any browsing.

In my opinion, Internet Explorer is the worst browser of all existing on the market and now that they are bringing it to Xbox360 it`s going to be even worse.

Damn near everybody can't stand IE on a computer, nevermind on a video game console. Even if they improve things, the IE name is so soiled haha but we'll see. A browser is better than none so oh well, I'm sure I'll use it a little from time to time.

Although Xbox would at least have a browser of its own, I don't see many people using it if it's Internet Explorer. Also, it would definitely be even worse off on a console than it is on the computer. Unless you need to surf the internet immediately, I doubt people will use it.

I don't know why people would use a console browser, if they have a laptop or desktop. The IE browser is failing miserably, and it's sad for Xbox users. The thing I want to know is why it took Microsoft so long to release a console browser? This could have been useful when the system was first released. At this point people haven't had a console browser, so why would they need it now?
