If youre wondering, this is on my Wii. Yesterday, I turned off my computer, when I turned it back on,it was completely locked, and no one knows the password. Maybe it was hackers or a virus, I dont know. Does anyone know what to do? I`d appreciate some help.

Ouch, I'm sorry but I really can't help you right now. But, if It did happen to me, I'd go to another account, Make another ADMIN account, erase my old own, and use the new one. (All my stuff is in the Local Disk, heh)

What kind of locked?

Does it have something like this:

Or if you're using Windows 7 or Vista, I think it simply has the current user that was logged in, and says "Locked" below it or something?

You wouldn't be able to get a picture or at least describe exactly what the screen said/says?

Ok,first off,I have windows 7 home premium.on my screen, it just says the name of my account, and under that, there is a box that says password that lets you put in a password. And theres a thing that says reset password, and if I click that,it says I need a “password reset disk”,which idk what that is. then the only other thing is the option to restart, sleep,or shut down. God,its annoying to type with a wii remote

I'm going to assume you've tried just hitting enter?
This thing happened to me once and that's what I did to fix it.

Sorry super, but if it's locked and you don't know the code, your screwed. The only way I see is for a Hard Drive reset. But you will lose everything on it.
Or you could buy That 'Password Reset' disk and not lose everything except for some cash.
Regardless of what you do, put on a passcode that you know so that it's harder for anyone to access. Otherwise your basically saying 'Hi! It's an open house, so come on in!'

Edit-or try what flan said.

I tried what flan said and it didnt work. and I have a wireless router connected to it and if i take that off,im risking losing all my internet. facepalm

Jesus, it's only locked... it's not hacked. It's a normal thing. Have you really simply tried clicking on the box with the username? It could be that whoever locked it doesn't have a password. If that's the case, just clicking on that box thing will simply "unlock" the computer. Either that or um... hold the power button and force it to turn off, then just start it up again?

Just to be sure, does it look like this?

Try clicking on that 'box' in the middle.

Also "and I have a wireless router connected to it and if i take that off,im risking losing all my internet. facepalm" -- what has pressing Enter got to do with your internet?

My XP had this once. I managed to get through it by doing a "repair install". Then it died shortly after. But that computer as a whole was unstable as all hell.

Anyways, yeah, either somebody's put a password on by accident, or something strange is going on. Just uh, do what TUK says for now, heh.

Yes,it looks almost exactly like that(it even has that goddamn flower) except there is no option to switch the user and it doesnt say locked. I tried all the stuff you said besides disconnecting the router, which as i said before,i dont want to risk losing the internet on my Wii and 3DS. I even tried unplugging my computer while it was turning on to start it safely, but it still didnt work.

So you forgot your password? That's it? Why would you possibly think it was a virus or a hacker?
With my old XP, we never had a password on it, then all of a sudden it started asking for a password. Generally a computer error rather than a virus/hacker, I think.

There are many possibilities, but as long as we come out safely in the end, it's okay.

My computer died in the end. *contemplates death*

Thats what happened! I never put a password, and its asking me for one.hmmm i wonder why it wont let me make a new user

To me, this looks like a simple computer error. It doesn't look like a hack or virus to me, but even if it was, unplugging the router won't do anything to solve a lock-out problem. You're right in not disconnecting the router - there's no need to try it, I doubt it'll help any.

Apart from that, I've no idea on it. Tried booting it in Safe Mode, if that's at all possible in Windows 7? You might be able to change some user settings in there.

I had a real pain in the ass problem. I had tried running a third party thing on a disc (booted it before Windows could boot, AKA booted from a CD/DVD) which I used to clear the password associated to the user we were trying to log in as, but that didn't work. I resorted to doing a repair install of Windows XP, which got it working. The computer died due to... complicated reasons, but in your case, you should be fine. I'm not sure how to perform repair installs with Windows 7, and I don't know how any of that works either, but I suggest Googling around and looking at some forum posts made by users who have encountered the same issue; that's what I did, and I eventually found a solution.
