My computer got locked! D:

Also, Super Leaf, you said it doesn't say "Locked"? Are you able to describe what was said on the screen in as much detail as possible?

And just to make sure again, you have simply tried "logging on without a password"? Or does it then say "Incorrect password" or something?

Wait, does it look more like this?

EDIT: I just checked by deliberately changing my password to nothing, and if there's no password, it doesn't even ask for a password. If you have multiple users, on the screen where you have like a row of user icons, and one of them doesn't have a password, clicking on that user simply logs that user on instantly so if it's even asking for a password, obviously someone has put a password on there. Either that or... you were drunk and decided to put your own password on and don't remember

He hasn't exactly explained HOW it's locked. Technically how he describes it, is it's not "locked" in the sense of "This computer is locked", but simply requires a password to log on. Obviously someone put a password on. Someone being a person in your house.

Well my problem with my XP was nobody ever did put a password on (not even when they were drunk), and there never was a password. Somebody got up us and said somebody did put a password on, but we didn't. I booted that disc (like I mentioned earlier) that said it cleared the password, and it still wanted a password. A repair install was the only option, which was weird. I don't know how it happened, but I am willing to put blame on the old hard drive the computer had.

Probably someone playing a trick...Like a brother, or sister...or Parent.

He did say nobody knows the password, but still a possibility, heh.

Thanks for trying to help, guys

Here's an article:

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/f/forgot-password-windows-7.htm

To me, if you don't have the disk (I thought they came with Windows 7, but I don't know) and can't remember it (or didn't even put one on), you'll have to take the next step, which is: Hack Your Windows 7 Account With a Password Recovery Program.

They're not that hard to use from what I've gathered, just burn something onto a blank CD/DVD and boot from that. But if you don't know to burn anything onto a disk, let alone choose what you're booting from when the computer starts up, then don't try anything.

MEGA FACEPALM Now my mom is blaming it onn me and says i cant get OOT3d until its fixed.....

You said you tried Safe Mode already, but...

Try again!

Taptaptaptaptap F8 upon startup until you're given the option to boot in Safe Mode. Do so. You should be able to access a default Admin account with no password enabled. From that account, you should be able to create a new account on your computer OR use a password hacking program to figure out the password for the locked account. Just make sure that you've booted in Safe Mode with Networking...I'm ASSUMING that's how it works for Win7, but I'm a WinXP user.

Good idea, try this too.

OK now things are getting suspicious. I tried what Zexis said and got to the recovery thing. Then, along with my normal user, I saw a new user. one i've never heard of called HomeGroupUser$.(which had a password,of course) Who could this mysterious user be?

From what I understand over a quick Google, that's just an account used for networking your Windows 7 computer to other computers over some file sharing feature called HomeGroup.

Well it has a $ sign thats not normal. I thimk its someone hacking my computer.

God you're more annoying than Yoshian used to be. Read NintenDan's post you stupid freaking idiot!

Allow me to copypasta and enlarge the important part.

It's perfectly normal! AFAICT, someone has OBVIOUSLY put a password on your computer. Your computer was NOT hacked. EVERY SINGLE FREAKING Windows 7 has "HomeGroup" on it. "It has a $ sign"? Oh no.... a dollar sign? What EVER will we do! *sarcastic sigh*

Have you even done the most simplest of solutions? Just guessed the password? Also, please could you take a picture of the screen at the part where you can't log on, so I can see exactly what you can see now?

Wait a minute.... Born in October 1996? OH so THAT makes sense. You're only 14 years old, so of COURSE you'd get suspicious over the most ridiculous things that EVERYONE has. HomeGroupUser
$ is obviously a hacker, isn't it. You have an internet connection?

The "HomeGroupUser{:content:}quot; is basically the HomeGroup itself. It allows you to share files between PCs within the same network (as long as they have Windows 7 AND have HomeGroup enabled, AND give permission first)

Also just one more thing.
Click on your username on the main log on thing you see when you first startup your computer. Type any random thing in (obviously it'll be incorrect, that's the point) -- does it not have a "Password Hint" when you type in the wrong password? What does that say?

that was mean, but useful heh Anyway, I went to Best Buy (a US computer store) and got help from someone there and it turns out *drumroll* I have a VIRUS that created the account and put the passwords. So now I'm looking for the disk that resets my computer. I barely save anything on my hard drive,so im resetting it. And i cant upload a picture on here without a computer *sigh* I guess i'll take a picture on my 3ds and upload it after my computers back.

and whats wrong with 14 year olds?

Well, good job at getting help, heh. Although isn't there the option to do a repair install of Windows 7? That fixed my problem, and didn't format my hard drive. But eh, whatever you want to do.

EDIT: That HomeGroup account can't be the hacked account or anything that put the virus on though, even if that's what the Best Buy guy was saying. It's basically just a hidden account that you aren't supposed to see, much like system files, so you don't go around deleting the stuff that is kinda needed for stuff to work.

OK i get the homegroup thing now. I think the virus still hacked it though, and it wont let me access a repair install.
