From PC Mag:

Nintendo's latest earnings report reveals that the Switch has now sold 122.55 million units, moving it up to third place on the list of best-selling games consoles.

Previously, the Switch sat behind the PS4 (117 million) and Game Boy/Game Boy Color (118 million). Moving into second or even first place is now possible, but will take some time. The Nintendo DS sold 154 million units and was just beaten to the top spot by the PS2 with 155 million units.

Nintendo's third-quarter earnings report (via Engadget) paints a picture of declining popularity, though. Sales of the hybrid console are down 21% year-on-year, while software sales are down 7%. However, the Switch still had 27 games sell over 1 million copies, and 19 of those were Nintendo's own titles. The Switch OLED model is also selling well, with sales up 92% year-on-year.

Nintendo highlights Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet as experiencing the "fastest start of any title for a Nintendo dedicated video game platform." Since the two games launched on Nov. 18, they have sold 18.2 million copies. Other new titles that did well include Splatoon 3 (9.4 million), Nintendo Switch Sports (7.9 million), Mario Strikers: Battle League (1.9 million), and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (1.5 million).

Well doesn't that seem nice everyone can afford quality entertainment if they so wish to own it and play games that are lightyears less primitive than at least the Gameboy? I'm sure they can't play the same games but given the option, we know what is more enjoyable.
