RP: John runs over to the Guilmon, but a commotion from the forest diverts his attention. Suddenly, 2 Pirates remove their sight-shields. They stand there, their reactions disturbed by the sudden return to visibility. John grabs his sword and flings it at the first Pirate's head. It slices through like a knife through butter. The second Pirate bleeps triumphantly, sensing that John is weaponless. The Pirate swings his own sword down and...
John clicks his fingers, and his sword re-appears in his hand. He parries the blow, then jumps into the air, teleporting for extra height, and falls, plunging his sword into the pirate's head. He then removes their power source, 2 green orbs. He looks over at the Guilmon. "Now do you trust me??"

OOC: Changed name to Dreyus. Malin was kinda weird. This one is also weird, but for some reason... I feel attached to it more than Malin.

OOC: First of all, yes we can now talk (except to Dan/Dreyus who is in a kind of different area. Cool idea with the Paratroopa too Dan). And I see Dan even edited my posts with the new name, heh. I've decided not to gain any Coins this post (it's gotten a little late now) but I'll get some next post.

RP: Shyril is... shocked. To say the least. A strange man is asking if he trusts him and some strange thing with a shell is also heading this way. Shyril isn't sure what to do or think. He may have avoided the Robo-Pirates but he didn't expect to be confronted by strangers. Shyril suddenly puts two and two together. 'Wait a sec. We where all prisoners, so we must all be on the same side... So it can't hurt to...' but then Shyril's ears straighten up. He just heard something in the forestation nearby. Sure enough, another Robo-Pirate leaps out from behind him.

But before the Robo-Pirate gets a chance Shyril has completely vanished. He just turned invisible, and leaves no footprints in the sand as he sneaks up from behind the Pirate. Turning visible again, the DaggerBlade raised high, he brings it down on the Pirate with a loud CLANG of metal on metal. The Pirate swipes with it's sword and Shyril easily rolls left to avoid it before taking a swipe at the legs, knocking it off balance. Shryil does a few melee-style combos with it, bashing to the left and the right, before bringing the DaggerBlade down square on it's head, crushing it and putting it well out of comission. "That'll teach you to sneak up on me." He says. He turns around and remembers the two strangers still standing. Now a bit more trusting of them, despite the shelled one not saying anything to him yet, he casually puts the DaggerBlade back onto the sheath on his back, and says "Hey... The name's Shyril. You guys are...?"

RP: "I'm John", John says as he scours the area for anymore sight-shielded Pirates. His search yields no results, but he's not convinced. "I don't want anybody listening in...", he mutters. He claps his hands, and at once all the shadows around them bled dry. Finally, when the world seemed unbeearably bright, he clicked his fingers. A cocoon of darkness envelops the three of them. He smiles, a handy trick he learn't on Mount Umbra. Nothing could penetrate these walls of shadow except divine light, and that just wasn't possible since the last human-angel died. But he needed to focus on the task at hand. "So..." he says, "The Robo Pirates have weapons, allies, home ground advantage, numerical advantage and technological advantage. We have practically nothing. It's going to be close." He smiles with a humour only imminent battle gave him. The others look slightly unnerved.

And I'm Andy. He says while John does some crazy stuff with the surroundings.
"I have this idea", he says, and shows the others the plan as he explains:
"You shoot me up with that thing and I will try to remember where the pirates and prisoners are. Then, we might use it for shooting rocks and such", he explains to the others..

RP: "We could do that, but I could also just teleport you up there" John says to Andy, "but I like the idea of being able to use it as a weapon afterwards, only, I'm no war machine engineer. Tactics are my field. I've no clue how to build something like that". He paces and thinks. "We need to work something out..."

RP: "You guys forget.... They roam the whole world and everything in it. We can't just go in there with a few catapults, they'll counter with millions and a whole war will start, and we'll be worse off. But if John could teleport Andy up there, Andy may not see any new islands, but we might spot a town, a few Portals, or maybe even some transportation that could be of better use then throwing people up in the air to spot new lands. Instead we could sail or fly around and look ourselves." Shyril is now getting excited, this means adventure, something he's been missing recently.

"So first of all, John needs to teleport Andy who needs to report what he sees. We then need to pick which direction we take. We could continue along this beach to see where it takes us, jump in that forest, or check out the Portal over there. And unless there's a nearer Portal, that's my first stop regardless of what Andy sees." Shyril folds his arms, his mind made up, and he refuses to be moved on his decision. 'I HAVE to look everywhere, who knows what turmoil the other worlds are in. And just destroying the base of operations, wherever that may be, just won't help those other worlds...' He thinks.

OOC: Well, there has to be a big field over the cliff where Dreyus is.

OOC: Good idea John. Fillfall, I said 'need' but remember, you control your characters action. You don't wanna do it, make 'em say it. Even if another character needs you to do something, you don't have to say yes. You guys could BOTH decide that another idea is submitted that is better then my character's, yet my character may feel that he should be doing smething else. So basically, you don't want to do it, for ANY reason, don't ever feel you have to, ok? That's not how it works. If you feel that a decision made by other characters puts you in a spot of trouble (like leaving many locations up to you), you can make your character refuse to do it or make them fail somehow (like maybe too much cloud in the way and you can't see anything.)

Put simply: If you don't wanna do it for whatever reason, make yourself fail at it somehow and no information is revealed, or just say 'no'. If the others continue to say 'yes', it's YOUR character, YOU do what you want. If that means you have to leave a group so be it.

OOC: My character will gladly do it, but I don't want to decide how everything should look.

IC: Dev's still hiding behind a bush. Curious as to what this trio is doing, he approaches within 30 cm of the group. They still don't notice him. Dev quietly listens to their ridiculous plan that will probably get them killed...He's seen Invisi-pirates go into the area in which they're talking about...Dev wants to help them, but he just doesn't want to speak out. Shyness has overcome him for now...The bush is also incredibly unrealistic and not even the right shade of green. It's a wonder that no-one has noticed him. He lies in wait...

RP: John clicks his fingers and the surroundings revert back to normal. "Right," he says "everyone know the..." he breaks off mid sentence. There's a bush beside him that definitely wasn't there a while ago. His battle-humour grin becomes a scowl. He, the greatest tactical mercenary in all of the Gryzanthian lands, had been fooled by the oldest trick in the book. He delivers a swift roundhouse kick to the bush, and it disintegrates, and a figure flies out and lands face-down in the sand. John starts walking over to him, but something very strong grabs him around the neck. He begins gasping for air, and his vision starts to blacken. "Help me..." he cries in a hoarse, constrained voice, as the invisible attacker continues to strangle him...

RP: Looking out towards the vast, grassy area before him, Dreyus stands there motionless, taking in the view. He turns to his side to the Paratroopa that was just rescued.

"Who ARE you? You were... awesome!" the Paratroopa shouts.

Dreyus doesn't acknowledge the compliment. He just does what he does. Instead, he ignores the seemingly young person he saved, moving forward at a quick pace to study the strange, swirling purple ellipse in the distance.

"Hey! Where are you going?" the Paratroopa asked.

"Somewhere", Dreyus replied.

"Look mister, I don't have anybody else... I was taken away from my family and I don't have anyone...", the Paratroopa says softly.

"What's your name?" Dreyus asks, suddenly interested.

"It's Rick", the Paratroopa answers back.

"Two rules" Dreyus says sternly. "One; don't ask me questions. Two; don't ask where we're going".

"Okay... I guess..." Rick says, following him closely.

Dreyus steps up closer to the portal. He reads the name of it... 'Forest Ruins', it's called.

"Stay there" Dreyus says, signalling by pointing his finger down to the ground, not even looking at him. He cautiously steps into the portal and is transported away.

"Wait! What?!" Rick shouts, hovering above the ground slightly confused with his tiny little wings.

Dreyus instantly shoots out of the air and lands on the brown, soft dirt, lined with trees that pointed up to the sky as high as the eye could see. He was standing on a recently used path, tiny footsteps littering the walkway. "Pirates" he thought, as he looked up and saw a distant, yet massive, structure within the dense trees. Without a moment to spare, he unsheathed his Cannon Sword and dashed quickly towards the area.

RP: Shyril, somewhat shocked by John's sudden actions, realises that he is indeed getting choked by something. Something invisible. And whatever it is, it's not friendly. Being able to turn invisible does have it's own advantages, like being able to detect something that is invisible itself. Shyril dashes over, and slams the invisible being into the ground. The invisibility wears off and reveals...

...An Invisi-Pirate. Shyril gives the now ill-fated robo a good thwack in the head, turning it to scrap metal. "Hopefully that thing didn't overhear everything, because if it did, it'll have been transmitted across the whole radio system they have by now, if they have one." He turns to everyone. "We can't hang around here, it's way too dangerous. We think it's safe but Pirates are still lurking around. We need to move. Follow me if you wish guys, but I'm jumping through that Portal right now!" And Shyril rushes to the cliff, jumping into the mystical doorway labelled Sandy Castle. 'Maybe there's something to find in here...'

OOC: Cool idea Dev with the Invisi-Pirates, and nice thought Dan of bumping into what looks like a partner. These could remove the need for Talismans and are actually a nice idea and seem far less complicated. I'll have a think about this and may make some edits in the rules tomorrow depending on agreements and thoughts. Also considering Coins, but then again how can we buy things? And so far I've been giving myself a few auto-victories, simply because it's the beginning of the game and I don't want to be downed just yet. But now I'm going to start rolling die for my battles, just to add more randomness to it.

RP: John falls to the ground, gasping for air. He turns around and sees Shyril standing over a dead Pirate. "Their power source..." John pants, "They're dark green orbs. But they disintegrate after 20 seconds, so get them quick..." He starts coughing and spluttering again. Finally, he gets his breath back. He jumps up and grabs the pirate's sword. He'd been taught to fight dual-sword style, so this could come in handy. He flicks a switch on the sword and it crackles with blue electricity. He clicks his fingers and the electricity turns to shadow. Just what he needs. "Come on," he says, "Let's go!!"

RP: Even in being exposed, and right in front of everybody, Dev still somehow maintains his stealthiness. Using a reel of tape he finds on the ground, some pieces of bark he has found, and re-attaches the bush to his head...to become a mini-tree. Visibility is now halved, but he can even more stealthily follow the group. "Gah, I haven't said anything during this whole game! Maybe I should say something now!" Said Dev, quietely to himself...As he continued to follow them..
OOC: Heh, ty Y64M, I am an Idea machine. olol.

GM: Sometime over this week I'll be changing the rules around. When I do I'll be sure to let you know here.

RP: Shyril lands, rather roughly, on the other side of the Portal. He shakes his head and stands up, in order to look around.

"This place is just a huge beach.... But there's that castle not too far ahead that's made of stone. But the wall that surronds it is made from sand..." Shyril decides that the castle is most probably his best bet of looking around this new area, and probably where all the action is. Unsure if anyone actually jumped through the Portal after him, he dashes towards it.

Only to be stopped by the large gate in the sandy wall. It looks like there are some patterns drawn in the sand on the ground and the same patterns are on the door.

'That's funny...' Shyril walks over one of the patterns, a star. It lights up on the gate.

'Ahhh, some kind of lock maybe?' Shyril walks over a different pattern, this time a pattern of a cloud. The moon on the door doesn't glow and the star stops glowing.

"Wha? Oh I get it. There has to be some kind of order... There are five patterns, the star, the moon, the sun, the rainbow and a cloud... Is there some kind of clue?" Shyril looks around and finds a notice on the wall. It reads:

A bow of rain comes after it pours.
The morning light shines through before the night star, with it's many followers.
snoitcurtsni eseht esrever ,kees uoy tahw dnif ot.

"Now that, I don't get at all!" Shyril groans. "No, wait a minute... A bow of rain comes after it pours. That means the cloud goes first, then the rainbow." Not reading the rest of it, he jumps onto the cloud symbol, but nothing happens. "Huh? The star lit up before..." He goes back to re-read the notice.

A bow of rain comes after it pours.
The morning light shines through before the night star, with it's many followers.
snoitcurtsni eseht esrever kees uoy tahw dnif ot.

"I don't get that last line though!! ARGH!!" Shouts Shyril. Shyril looks at it a little more closely... "No wait... The last line is... REVERSED! It reads "To find what you seek reverse these instructions! Haha, oops..."

Shyril jumps on each symbol in order as he says "So the 'many followers' are the stars, the 'night star', the next one, is the moon, the 'morning light' is the sun, the word 'pour' should be associated with the cloud and the bow of rain is the... Huh?!"

Shyril is shocked. He must've done something wrong because all the symbols went dark again when he jumped on the cloud. "OH. Haha, it also reversed the instructions of the line. So it's the star, the moon, the sun, the rainbow and THEN the cloud!"

The gate brightens up as the symbols light up. It swings open (fortunately inwards) to reveal what looks like the castle grounds. A green objectis in the middle of the area that has just opened.

"An Orb!" Shyril dashes up and takes the Orb, tucking it away safely.

"I wonder what's inside though?" Shyril dashes through the large wooden double-doors...

RP: John watches as Shyril disappears through the Portal. "Shoot!", he curses. He just remembers exactly what Sandy Castle is and used for. "Shyril!!!" he calls, but his voice is lost in the swirling continuum of the portal. "Ah...." he sighs realising there is nothing else he can do. He runs straight through the Portal.
He strolls out upon an old lock, but the code has already been deciphered and the way ahead is clear. He draws his two swords and steals through the arch....

OOC: Might as well post, seeing as there's such lack of activity. I hope Y64M doesn't mind if I make up a few things.
RP: John continues walking into the castle grounds. The surroundings are unusually lush for the desert stronghold. Located in the centre of the Outer Deserts, Sandy Castle was a stronghold used by errant mercanaries who pilfered supply trains to the border towns. However, it was built upon an ancient seal. This seal was responsible for the lush greenery of the castle area. But, not too long ago, the castle was ransacked by an unidentified force from the north. John's friend Teal had lived here. She was a good person and a better fighter. But, she perished in that raid. Everyone did. The castle had been unheard from since, but tales of dark creatures that roamed these lands were common in the markets and border towns alike. John looks at the ground. The perfectly round stone seal, once glowing with heavenly light, is cracked and mottled. It's runes now faded, John wonders how long this desert paradise will last. Suddenly, he spots Shyril. "Shyril!!", he calls, "we need to get out!!!"
No sooner then had he finishes his sentence, the seal cracks. And darkness pours out. John, being affiliated to dark, is unaffected, but he worries for his new friend. He is not going to lose someone in this doomed placd again!!
