Who is excited for Portal 2 coming out in a week and a half?
I know I am. I am so looking forward to co-op

My friend and I have pre-ordered and already picked our robots for co-op, and bought shirts with our robots on them that we will wear when we play co-op together.

So, has anyone else pre-ordered too? And did you pre-order through Steam or from a store where you can get the cool (but expensive) collectors edition with the cube?
 
I'm Excited!!! Been waiting quiet a while on this one... didn't pre-order it though. Also sadly won't have a good Co-Op partner, I remember how frustrating it can be in the single player n my friends are not really someone you can call support when it comes to video games.. (They are much better victims then partners). But yeah. can't wait to get my hands on this one! And love that Stephen Merchant is the voice this time! An Awesome bonus!!

What platform will you be playing it on?
I am definitely one of those meat shield people on an Xbox (I don't own one or play them, hence I suck), but on a computer I can hold my own.
My co-op buddy is actually a random guy I met on a trip a couple years ago. He had a Portal shirt on, which I begged him for (and didn't get

), and we've been friends ever since.
Will you be paying the extra for the collectors edition when you get it?
 
I'll be getting it for my PC... (smokes a Xbox n PS3 most days of the week). Don't know yet about the collectors edition yet, haven't heard much about it yet. Is there anything added In-game? Or do you get a bunch of collector Items? Or both

Your Co-Op buddy sounds like the right person for the job. Co-Op is awesome when everyone knows whuts up. Love it! used to have that with my Bro, but he live half way across the globe from me right now(I'm the one that bounced). So gots to deal it with my PS3 fanboys now. It shows that it is a singleplayer console, they can't do much besides dying or running the wrong way when in a team

Yeah I agree about PC and any PC version of a game. I think the reason Xbox and PS3 have become so popular is because they're convenient. You only need the one console for 4 people, and there's no upkeep involved. I miss the days of lan parties

The collectors edition has a rubix cube with Portal 2 images on it instead of colours, but that's all I'm aware of that's different. Steam is giving out free copies of Portal with every Portal 2 pre-order, which I think is cool. If you've already played it, give it to a friend to get them hooked

Ew, PS3. I would take an Xbox over PS3 any day.

Lucky for you, the original Portal is really short! If you start playing it right now, you will definitely have it finished before Portal 2 is released

I'll get it sometime, just not when it's $45. Just beat Portal the other day and it convinced me to at least add Portal 2 to my wishlist, lol.
 
I beat Portal last night so I'm excited about Portal 2. I was excited about it before because I didn't know Portal was on 360. I though it was for PC only.

Also it is short. I started last night around 7 or 7:30PM and I finished it by 11PM. It's not long, but the Portal jumping is difficult. Also the game may have given me motion sickness. xD
 
I am not preordering it when i can just get it on release day from Steam. I'll do co-op with a Steam friend after I beat the main game. Any of you interested in co-oping with me? I may replay Portal 1...
 
You people do realize M$ is being screwed over on Portal 2? The PS3 version will not only have a free copy of the PC version, but also will be featuring Steam Cloud which will allow the same free updates the PC version gets. PS3 owners will also be able to play co-op with PC owners through said Steam Cloud.
 
I know, the PC version of Valve games are always the best. I was just saying PS3>Xbox.

But it's $5 off if you preorder it on Steam plus you get an extra copy of Portal to gift someone.
 
@Lici I used to play with my bro, but internet prices have gone really high over here while his speed has gone way too high. So his 24mb/s against my miserably 1mb/s makes the experience a pain for one of us.. either he is way to fast for me or his game stutters, plus he's |"working to much" (yeah right, but still can talk to me about every pc game tht releases).
Miss Lan parties as well, wonder if ppl still do that properly. I still do it with maybe 2 or 3 people, but even that is dying out, since everyone is too occupied with their consoles. When i grew up that was like THE thing to do at some point, where ppl went weeks in other peops' basements. aaa yea.. the good old days. Only time i hear of anything lan now is with Counter Strike....
N i guess i won't be getting the collectors editon, if they jsut add a rubix cube

they haven't gotten me quiet that hooked on it yet. But i am definitely looking forward to jumping through some portals soon!
 
Kongregate did a pretty neat promotional ad for Portal 2 on their site.

All of the buses in my area have Portal 2 blasted all over them, kinda funny seeing all the ads!
