This is currently an on going anime which is at episode 10 to date. I know there are a few watchers here so feel free to discuss the episodes here. So those who have not watched this series, beware of spoilers!


I must say, episode 10 was really good and went bad for kirito.

Was waiting for episode 12 to start this thread but you beat me at it, so here are my thoughts so far, mostly theories though.

I have a few theories about the real plot of the game, one being that time goes much much faster in the game, and that once they do beat the game, it'll be like only a few hours went by, cause its weird that after 2 years no1 found a solution to get them out of the game yet.
I also think that no1 actually dies in the game but instead kept asleep in the Nerve Gear until the game ends.

Oh and Heathcliff seems to have cheated during his fight with Kirito so there's a chance that he's linked to the creator of the game somehow :?

So yeah, let me know what you think And sorry if I don't make sense, it happens a lot with me lol.

Few interesting theories, but I feel the main plot of game trap is to make people want to stay in the game.

Then its kind of a failure so far considering that most of the players are fighting to leave the game.
And after watching the fist episode of Accel World, which is better than I thought, I think my first theory isn't that far off.

And either last episode or the one before that one of the players mention less and less people fighting to get out. Which backs my theory.

Yup, apparently both animes are in the same universe or something, this would back up my theory about the difference in the flow flow of time, even how Heathcliff won.

The guy that looked like Ash Ketchum (from Pokemon) from the anime's trailer almost made me get turned off from the anime.

However, I kept watching.. and I saw a sword.
So I'll try it out and see what I think about it.

By the way, is there a dub?

Accel World happen before or after SAO?

Hard to say, but considering that Accel World has a more compact Nerve Gear my guess would be after.

Its a relatively new anime so I doubt there's a dub yet.

no dub yet since the anime is this year. And I assume you watched accel world, did it have any plot from SAO?

I only watched the first episode, no plot so far.

from what I get from this looks like there is no connection. Like steins gate and chaos head.

The connection isn't in the plot of the anime but the light novels, There are different worlds in SAO, one being called the UnderWorld and said to be a prototype for the Accelerated World.

haven't touched the novels so I can't say much.


just watched the new episode, looks like SAO has it's .hack version of Aura (a being outside of the system.)

Didn't read the novels either, but looks like SAO is based on the first arc, so hopefully, each arc will get its own anime.

only the first arc? And doesn't this have 24 episodes?


And more will be done if the series gets good ratings and DVD sales.

25 episodes, and all the arcs have different settings/rules. In the 2nd one they get to choose between different races, the third on is focused on guns.

So is continuation or does it reset with the new settings and rules?

I believe its a continuation, maybe the players are given the choice to try the new worlds.

Not sure if that flows well with the current story but I guess we have to wait and see.
