Thoughts about business plans?

I can't think of any business which a business plan isn't needed to start it. Even if it's a small business, there must be a plan of its size to start the work with.

I come from a family of employees.
So, I never thought about business to be honest. However I did see people going bankrupt and accumulating debts through business and now, I don't think I would ever want that in my life -_-"

Having attempted three small businesses in my life (with a fourth coming soon...) a business plan is absolutely essential. Not only does it provide a written plan for how the business is structured, how it will operate day-to-day, and grow, but also, in the event something happens to the founder (you) somebody else can pick up the plan and implement it so that the business can (hopefully) prosper.

It outlines all of the costs with running the business, the major competitors, has tons of research, strategies, and tactics for achieving success of world dominati---- I mean of the business. A good business plan also outlines potential oversights and pitfalls that can be avoided with proper planning. And, in the event you ever want to sell the business (exit strategy) the business plan outlines how to do that too. Most investors won't even look at you seriously (at any stage of your business) without a solid business plan. Even if you never plan on using any form of investors, it's vital to still have a business plan. Furthermore, a good business plan will outline who's whom in the business, what responsibilities they have and that will reduce redundancy and waste. (Often however, these pages are split into an Employee Handbook.)
