Multi Trails Of Black English version announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak

Official Description of the second game translated by Gematsu:

A new, further polished story following The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki‘s first chapter, which depicts the people living between the light and darkness in the Republic of Calvard, with the young Spriggan Van Arkride as its protagonist.

Popular illustrator Katsumi Enami returns from the first game as the sequel’s character designer.

The sequel inherits and polishes the strong points of the first game—such as its unique battle system that seamlessly transitions from field battles to command battles, and LGC Alignment system in which the player’s Law, Gray, and Chaos stats fluctuate according to their actions—to achieve a more comfortable and exhilarating game system.

Additionally, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- includes numerous unique content such as a wealth of side content that utilizes its Calvard setting.

Please look forward to The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN-, the latest entry in the Trails series, which has been further upgraded as a new chapter in the story of the Republic.

Story

S.1209. After the threat of the mafia organization Armata was gone, the Republic of Calvard regained its former peace.

But one day, in a corner of Edith City, a bizarre incident occurs in which a CID (Central Intelligence Department) special operations squad was found slaughtered.

The Calvard Police and Bracer Guild begin investigating the matter. But sensing that a new time of chaos may come, underground factions also start making moves.

Meanwhile, Spriggan Van Arkide also begins his investigation, kickstarted by a visit from an unexpected someone.

Who is the culprit behind the massacre? Why did they do it? And what will happen to Agnes, who is searching for the Eighth Genesis, the last legacy of her great grandfather?

The brutish roar of a crimson beast, and an encounter with a young boy and girl seeking “something” will lead them down a “Trail” that they cannot escape.

Question: What is the estimated length of the Republic Arc in the Trails series and how long is it compared to the Trails of Cold Steel(Erebonia Arc)? How many games for the Republic of Calvard Arc will be completed?
https://twitter.com/Hansuke21

Kondo: In the continent of Zemuria, The Erebonia Empire is the biggest one. So the development team think that the story will be the longest in the Trails series. Although the story of Republic Arc is not big like the Erebonia Arc, it is the second longest in the series. 1/?

The Republic Arc is divided into several games. Although we already have a plan going forward, there is no definitive conclusion currently. After all, there have been cases of overturn the pre-plans in the past, so the total amount will be kept a secret for the time being. 2/2

Q. Hajimari showcase three episodes of "Beyond the Genesis," which most of them have appeared in Kuro but only Rean wasn’t shown in game. There is also a character name Kevin, who is really popular in the Trails fanbase, will both of them have a chance to appear in the future?

Kondo: The latest in the series Kuro No Kiseki, has already been set in stone in our minds as a new work that aimed primarily at players who have never played the series before, this leads to being as an indicator for selecting characters for Kuro and future works. 1/?

Rean is one of the most popular and one of the most powerful characters in the series, If he is allowed to appear in Kuro, he will be stealing the spotlight as a result, making it impossible for new players who are not familiar with him to understand the story of the game. 2/?

As to when Rean will appear again in the future, it will depend on the development of the plot(in short they don’t know at the moment for his reappearance or where to put him in Republic Arc). 3/?

Regarding Kevin, thank you all for caring about him so much
Smiling face with open mouth and tightly-closed eyes
. Kevin being part of the Order of Gralsritter that belongs to the Septian Church. Zemuria was created by the goddess, which lead to a deep connection between the church and its mysteries of the continent. 4/?

Now that the story has gradually developed to the most central part of the Trails series, there will be more scenes from the Order of the Grailsritter, and Kevin will naturally make an appearance when the time comes. 5/5 (Now I need my
Wine glass
after reading all of that
Sleeping symbol
lol)

Q. Kuro No Kiseki being the beginning of the second half of the series, so how many works/games are expected to appear in the second half?

Kondo: It's true that the dev. team is growing in size, but we are still lacking. We had a complete team a few years ago, however it's gradually changing. Kuro was developed in a way to outsource some of the characters that includes modeling, combat, and special effects, etc. 1/?

K: Because of the outsourcing team and the company are separated from in two places, it took a lot of time to communicate back and forth, and it was even take up the time of some core development members of the team in the process(delays, etc). 2/?

K: This should be regarded as one of the difficulties we encountered in the development process for Kuro No Kiseki. If we continue to develop on this scale in the future, we must learned from this new experience/lesson and come up with proper solutions for them. 3/?

It’s true that the impact of Covid-19 outbreak is beyond our imagination. Fortunately, the company's employees have not been infected, but they still need to take care of their families at home and have to work from home. 4/?

K: In any busiest stage of development, if we cannot contact people in time during an emergency meeting on a problem, it will cause delays in the entire process. Overall, "Kuro No Kiseki" will be the hardest work that I have worked on since I entered Nihon Falcom. 5/?

K: Currently at the moment, it is completely hard to express of reluctant or feeling towards its development. Kuro No Kiseki is like a treasure that has been dug up for the first time. The story will indeed continue, but being reluctant when the Republic Arc story is finished 6/?

Chen: As I mention before, it’s not really that the Republic Arc is over, even if it’s over, there are still two regions that haven’t been show/tell their side of the story yet. 7/?

Kondo: Apart from the further east, there is also an area where mentions of its name of the place has appeared but have not been described in full detail. Which it’s specific structure of this is still under further planning. 8/?

K: It is estimated that it will be ten years before it reaches its conclusion. There are many older employees within the company who are currently working hard. I do hope of finishing this story before they retire. 9/9 The rest is for Nayuta, Ys vs Sora No Kiseki and others.

For those curious about Ys vs Sora No Kiseki question: Q: Has the Trails series considered making more genre games in the future? For example, the production of spin-off games, Romance simulation, and other party games. Me: (Spits out my beverage)

Kondo: We don't have any plans for of that type of work currently. We’ve been asking ourselves about this question for a while because we've previously released Ys vs. Sora No Kiseki. With that specific game, players continue to have high expectations for any spin-offs currently.

Chen: Regardless of whether it can be realized or not, what kind of derivative/genre work for the "Trails" series does Mr. Kondo personally want to make most? 2/? Hint: A fighting game.

Kondo: I want to make a fighting game. "Ys vs. Sora No Kiseki" has been on sale for a long time. Years later, many new characters appeared in the "Trails" series. There are many with unique abilities. If I can play these characters, it will be nice to see them in a showdown. 3/3

Feedback after the release of "Kuro" Interviewer- It's been 3 months since the release of "Kuro", and you should already have a general idea of what the player fanbase thinks of it. What is the feedback from them? What has the development team learned from this experience?

Kondo: Comparing to past developments of the Trails series, this work brought new changes(changed a lot compared to past titles). I feel that the players are looking at this with a new perspective. Most of the players described it as a "challenging game", although I was confused at first, they enjoyed it when they reach the end of it. I think this is a type of feedback that we bound to get when we adopted a new approach to our gaming development.

Interviewer- The writing style of the story and the main protagonist(Van) way of doing things (Spriggan) have changed quite a lot compared to the past protagonists, how did the players reacted to this?

Kondo: We developed this game with a core idea of "creating a main character that is a little different from past protagonists", so we showed the players a different side that is unique compare to past "Trails" works. This new aspect has generally been well received.

Interviewer: Van unexpectedly, but realistic manner/behavior feels very real, which makes players can’t help but feel really close to him.

Kondo: Many players have expressed and say that "Van is my favorite protagonist to date.” He is a character in his position is not normal(not pure-Gray), and his type of work give players a new point of view and feeling (basically something new that fans want more of).

Interviewer- "Kuro No Kiseki" has also evolved in terms of its combat(Turn-based/Action system). What is the feedback from players in that particular area?

Kondo: We listened to the players feedback about the AT action bar being hard to read (laugh). Even we have refined of the contents over the course of the series, we will inevitably have some flaws and issues in the game along the way that needs improvement.

Interviewer- At the time at the end of the story, how much of the Republic of Calvard story was being told? Kondo: If we reveal it now, people will surely imagine/guess the rest of the story arc, so it's a little hard to answer (laughs).

Interviewer- That's indeed true (laughs). But I think the plot of the story is progressing on schedule as planned.

Kondo: The current plot for the story arc is going exactly as we planned. What kind of country is the Republic, what kind of people live there (diversity), the current political situation and the mysteries that is hidden, which all of these will be fully revealed to the players.

Interviewer- It also leaves a lot of unsolved mysteries and opens up to interpretation/ambiguity for Crimson SiN(sequel).

Kondo: Indeed, the story of "Kuro" is basically not about the mystery that runs throughout the series. Although the members of "Ouroboros" made their appearance, at best they are there to show/reveal themselves. The sequel will focus on unsolved mysteries that will be explained.

Interviewer- It is clear that it’s unlikely that the members of the Septian Church will make an appearance in "that place" due to having to deal with aftermath of the Almata Incident. Plus the mystery behind President of the Republic(Roy Gramheart) remains unanswered.

Kondo: The president of Calvard is certainly not a simple person. In Kuro, the Septian Church and Ikaruga made their appearance, and although we know the full picture of Heiyue that has partially surfaced, there are still few secrets that left unmentioned.

Interviewer- The internal structure of the Heiyue organisation and their style of operation has been clearly demonstrated in Kuro.

Kondo: After all, Kuro is also the follow up to previous works, so both the Septian Church and Ouroboros(Society) have new involvements/movements. There is a reason there is always conflict between the two groups everytime, but rarely mentioned much about it.

wonder if NISA considers this series not worth while? I mean we got the nep x senran game like same day as Japan.
I wonder about that myself.
