Anyone got any favorites?

I like Ron Paul, I in all honesty believe he's the only person who has actual ideals. He's the only candidate that sticks out. I'm a firm believer in a constitutional government, and God knows we won't get it with Obama/ Romney/ Cain.

I don't care much. It's whatever. I'm not expecting any major changes regardless of who's in office.

Well, I would side with any Dem over a conservative due to the moral issues that each have.

But, in the end they're both terrible with the economy. So I say, I don't care but would prefer a Dem!

It'll depend on the economy. If things pick up, Obama will get a second term, if they don't, he probably won't.

I like Ron Paul. He's very affable, likeable, and clearly someone who sticks to his principles. He has like a grandfatherly quality about him. I'd be a little suspicious of his economic positions, I think if he followed through to his words, they'd prove a far more radical prescription than the 'socialism' Obama gets accused of. It sounds a lot like he basically distrusts they way modern industrialised nations are run and would like to go back to how things were done in the 19th century. Maybe that'd actually be an improvement, but from my perspective it'd be a step in the wrong direction.

I think he stands a decent shot with the public, but were he to get the nomination, I expect there'd be a massive smear campaign, and most of the big money would end up backing Obama.

Romney seems like a fairly harmless establishment canditate. Probably wouldn't do much right or wrong. I think he stands a very good chance, particularly given the current economic outlook. He reminds me of Bush Snr, who wasn't awful.

I think Cain or Gingrich would probably lose. I just don't see it happening. But I think a Cain candidacy would be a lot of fun.

A Cain presidency would be comedy gold.

Obama would have been great if he was stronger with what he supported. So much of the shit he tried to do got overturned or 'compromised' into garbage not near to what he had wanted.
Mrs. Clinton is a much stronger leader, probably would have been able to pass more things but oh well.

Herman in an insane fool. Hurrhurr god chose me to run for president, despite the sexual assault. Everyone has some problems.
Palin..don't even need to say anything after she thought Africa was a country. I'm sure her foreign policy is great.
Bachmann, what a joke.
Rick Perry, oh, lets pray our problems away.

Donald Trump would sooner get support from me before those fools.

I'm glad you're well educated in the next election. Only two of the four people you criticized are actually running.

And even then, there are several other candidates.

Isn't it three? I didn't hear anything about Cain, Bachmann or Perry dropping out. At any rate there's the best part of a year to get properly informed.

There's other canditates like Huntsman, who's not the worst but doesn't really stand a chance.

I heard some talk that Obama might run Clinton on the ticket this time. Although it might smack of desperation. But from a pragmatic point of view, she probably has a stronger support base than Biden.

I mentioned them because they're relevant clowns. I never said they were running did I?

It's funny that republicans are pinned as idiots and evil when the democrats are oh so perfect. Nope. They have no faults whatsoever.

You know, that whole thing with Clinton is no big deal. Rape is acceptable if it's from a democrat president. No big deal. But heaven forbid a republican should even say something that might be flirtatious (referring to Herman Cain). It's ok that democrats can lock republicans out of a meeting over health care a few years back when Obama first came into office. That's fine. Not sketchy at all. I'm sure it's fine to accuse all republicans of being racist just because we don't agree with the presidents views. That's cool. There's more, but I'm sure you really don't care. As far as you're concerned, I couldn't be more wrong. We conservatives are pretty stupid people, and that's all there is to it, right? There's no possible way we could want to care for the country. After all, it's only our home. Not that important to us, right? I'm sorry, but democrats can be pretty ignorant when they're afraid they might be wrong. That's fine, I get it.

At a crucial time like this however, I think it's time Obama left office. Just think of something he's done to help the economy. I can't. I honestly can't. It's worse than when he first started out in office. Now some of the people in the republican runnings are brilliant people. As far as Herman Cain is concerned, I could care less about his sex life. What's important is that he has the ability to keep the economy from collapsing. I'm sorry that you think Palin is an idiot as well. What I see is that she knows the important things in life, such as family. In her statement to decline running for the presidency, she said that she was going to put her own family ahead of her job. I applaud her for that. Personally, I think there are worse things to be than an idiot. Newt Gingrich is an incredibly intelligent person, probably smarter than anyone else running. Did he have a rough past with some affairs? Yes. Does that mean he doesn't have the skills to fix the economy? No. Again, I don't see Obama making that much progress, and personally, I don't think he's going to any time soon. He's great at campaigning, and he's great at speeches, but I do not trust him with my future. I'd rather have one of the 'clowns' in office than this president we have now.

And the republican nominees that I know of are Romney, Perry, Cain, Bachmann, Gingrich, and Paul. Just the ones off the top of my head. I'm not sure if there are others or not. I'd need to look it up.

the thing about the economy is that when bubbles burst, things typically take as long to return to normal as it took for the bubble to inflate in the first place. It's hard to say exactly when the bubble started. What we've had since 2007/2008 is a succession of bubbles bursting. It's a once a century global economic event. Unfortunately I don't think we're over it yet. I can't see things changing any time soon.

As for Obama not doing anything to help the economy, well there was the GM bailout and the stimulus. It depends on who you get your facts from whether these helped or not. The reality is that much of what was done during the Bush years removed the tools we might typically use to deal with a recession. They can't lower tax rates or interest rates any more than they already are. In retrospect, low interest rates during that period of 'growth' almost certainly contributed to over-inflating the bubble.

I personally think all the politicians are doing is trying to get there name in a children social studies textbook. Most of the candidates focus way too much on their competitors. What will we hear next? "Obama won't share his crayons"? Ron Paul seems to be the most sane, therefore I support him. Anyways, hear about the Romney commercial that quotes Obama quoting McCain? I think Romney lost the primary with that.
