Well, I think more compatibility with 3DS built-in software would be nice. Like Bureau de Exchange style thing where you exchange Play Coins for Rupees. Also, I want Ghirahim again!!! He's such an awesome character!!

Wind waker graphics, but we all know that will not happen.

I think that hyrule should be a wide overworld just like twilight princess.

The return of characters from OoT such as Malon etc.

-Preferably an open overworld like TP and the N64 games, maybe even have a little ocean travel in it...

-A new design for Link

-New art style

-No stealth, no phantoms or anything like the silent realm...- they're just not fun

-And I too would like to see some characters return. I would really like to see Ghirahim back (one of my favourite Zelda characters), but I don't think it's possible. Other characters I want to see include Linebeck and the Gerudo's

-Lot's of fun sidequests

-Being able to fight all the bosses again

-Some augmented reality support (just as a little extra)

-Maybe a prequel to SS...

I know... The scene at The Temple of Time in Lanayru Desert is awesome...
And how could you prequel SS??? SS is the ULTIMATE prequel...

We most likely won't ever see Ghirahim again, but I could see Fi reappearing in another game.
She is only slumbering in the Master Sword, after all. They could explain that the reason she never reawakened before is because she was not needed, but with Hylia's blessing, she could manifest once more.

Don't crush my hopes!! I can still believe!! Anyway, Nintendo baddies don't stay down for long. Bowser being the obvious example.
Well, I suppose Fi could come back, but do we really want her back??

I suppose technically speaking we never saw Ghirahim die... He just seemed to disappear when you defeat Demise.
Considering the relationship between Ghirahim and Fi, though, if Ghirahim cam back, Fi would have to be in that game, too.

I think they should make a super long game with all the characters from each game from LoZ

I think it's possible, (if the devs run out of ideas >.<)

But I do recall reading an article where the devs said they don't want to label any Zelda game as the 'first' in the series

EDIT:

Source:Official Niintendo Magazine "...this title [Skyward Sword] takes place before Ocarina of Time. if I said that a certain title was ‘the first Zelda game’, then that means that we cant ever make a title that takes place before that! So for us to add titles to the series, we have to have a way of putting the titles before or after each other.”-Eiji Aunoma

Perhaps it could expand upon Demise as a character. He's meant to be the main villain and he seems rather one dimensional; just evil for the sake of being evil

Well, he is the demon king. Surely that justifies evil for the sake of being evil???

The problem with the idea of having a prequel that goes into more depth on Demise is that there explicitly was no Hero, no Link, when Demise rose out of the earth and started laying waste to the world.
It was the goddess Hylia who defeated him, imprisoning him specifically for the purpose of waiting for a suitable Hero to come along; one who could wield the Triforce and put an end to Demise.

Aww >.< I see what you mean, I'd still like to see a prequel to SS though

However, when Zelda gives Link the sailcloth she says:

Meaning there was a previous hero before? Maybe one with a slightly different role- helping Hylia.
It would be awesome to see Hylia in her true form

They could make a spinoff where Link isn't the main character and heck, neither him nor Zelda are in the game. Demise could be a boss/villain in such a title.

The Legend of Groose! Make it so.

I think what Zelda says there should be taken with a pinch of salt. It's taken from stories that were handed down over many generations (as Fi says, oral tradition is very poor for information retention, and accuracy), and things said by characters whom you can be more sure know what they are talking about (such as Impa, and Zelda when she gets her memories back) seem to contradict it.
It seems perhaps more likely that she was actually talking about the prophecy of the Goddess' chosen Hero (which is, again, referenced a few times later on), but the information had been twisted over time, so that she thought that it had already happened.
After all, if there had been a Hero before, why could he have not wielded the Triforce and put an end to Demise?

Less gimmicks. Basically, back to Ocarina of Time or prior, where the only transport is on foot and by horseback, and heck, maybe without even musical instruments. We didn't need stuff like trains, wolf transformations or flying before, and we don't need it now.

Decent villains. Like Ganon, Vaati, and I think Ghirahim. It seems like while the first three seemed to have any sort of character, that many others seemed to exist just to give you a different final boss to fight. Bellum and Malladus for example, they have ZERO personality. They're in TV Tropes terms, Generic Doomsday Villains:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GenericDoomsdayVillain

That's a big Zelda series problem, whenever Ganon isn't available, it takes quite some luck for them to create a bad guy who's more than just a force of darkness that wants to kill everything.

More combat and such like. It seems like the series is doing everything possible to avoid a combat focused 'epic' adventure.

I suppose...
But it wouldn't be a TRUE TLOZ 3D game without music references of some sort...

A wind waker style game. Graphics and gameplay. But with an overworld.

I would like to see a game with some rpg elements without changing the Zelda formula too much, but more in depth than the upgrade system in Skyward Sword.
