There are plenty of anime cut short. Manga of the same series were a lot longer.

Examples:
Claymore. It ended at 26th episode, while the manga went on for at least 3x the length. Worse, because the anime caught up to manga, the animation studio decided to make up their own ending during the last 3~4 episodes. It went completely off the route of manga which killed any chance for continue the anime series. I wish they can either remake the last 3~4 episodes, or start with the main character awakes and found what happened in the last a few episodes to be a dream.

Slam Dunk
It ended in episode 101. The manga was a lot longer. Although I do not think there is any chance for the anime to continue since it was made in the 1990s.

Trigun?
It only had 26 episodes, but from what I heard the story was longer. The final episode of anime did not seem to be the ending either.

What else would you guys like to add to the list?

Dead man wonderland, man. I finished it about two years ago and I haven't read them manga yet, but I feel that the anime was so good! And it actually kind of left me with more questions than answers, when it comes to me, it definitely deserves a second season.
And also, I really would like to see the continuation of the second season of Kuroshitsuji, they bring up the circus thing and even if the season two wasn't on the manga, I still want to see what happened to the main characters lives... :(

Trigun needs a complete remake since I hear it was not a faithful adaptation.

For me it would be Bleach, Black butler, overlord, panty and stocking and a bunch of other bones made stuff.

Fruits Basket, definitely. (The anime only really scratched the surface of the manga. It's really too bad that the mangaka and the director had issues so that's not likely to happen; a complete reboot might be better considering certain revelations that happened later in the manga that were not taken into account during the anime...) I also wish Stellvia of the Universe had gotten that long promised sequel as well, but that's been quashed. I'm also hoping that Chihayafuru and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun get another season, though I'd definitely prefer they wait for more material to come out first (given their nature).

Bleach might be picked up again since the end is already in sight apparently (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-07-03/bleach-manga-to-end-in-74th-volume/.103916).

I still want a Rurouni Kenshin continuation where we actually get a season of the Enishi arc (and not that painfully depressing OAV that even the mangaka didn't like the ending of)...

Oda Nobuna will never get a second season. I don't think it ever will considering the anime changed some stuff from the light novels. I would definitely want another season of The Devil is a Part Timer, it had the right mix of action and comedy for me. Code Geass is finally getting another season. I'm kind of torn on it. I wanted more but the more I thought about it, the series ended in a perfect way for me. Hopefully the new season won't ruin the first two seasons.

It's been a while, but didn't The Devil is a Part Timer conclude? Or did it have a hanging ending?

Nobody judge me, but I'd love Lucky Star to get a 3rd season. Lucky Star was my first anime, besides Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon from when I was a kid. It was the first time I thought I'm going to watch anime and I choose that. I like how it's random and it doesn't have a story real story. Stuff just happens and it's funny.

I also wish Deadman Wonderland continued. I got really into it and was pissed when it just ended.

Also The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, but that's just one of my favorite animes and I would make time to watch it if I had a third season. Even though the second season was really bad.

The anime ended in a good spot. But if you read the light novel there's still a lot of plot left. You find out more about Emi's family. The interactions between her and Maou become a lot better. Can't say what without getting into spoilers. And more backstory on Maou. There's a lot of material in the light novels to make another season.

second season then please.

Ok I wish Deadman Wonderlan would continue or at least a reboot of the series, the manga is spectacular and the story could work on animation, sadly the anime went through a different path than the manga and it got bad reviews so it was cancelled, I really wish for a reboot or a remake of the series.

I forgot that series got a half assed ending.

I honestly and unironically liked "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid" that aired a few months ago with 12 episodes. I thought it was light-hearted but had action and funny scenes, and the characters are lovable and would leave you wanting to see more. I think the possibility of a new season is slim, since the manga content isn't enough for a 12 episode story arc, so all the fans have to do is wait. The struggle of anime and manga fans for all eternity: waiting for the next issue/episode to be released.

Another season of Souma should be in the works. Definitely could use more food porn. Maybe a final season of Zero no Tsukaima. The light novel was finally finished by another author. Only two volumes though. But I would like to see the end animated.

I'm agreed that Claymore should have another season, it's my favorite anime. It's a real shame for me that I dislike to read mangas. If I start to read manga one day, it definitely would be Claymore.
