The human race, were practically unlimited to anything we can do if we set our mind to it. So why is it were chained, weighed down and owned by money?

To me it seems like we should be so much better than being forced to use something like our current money system.

There is bartering where you do one task or give something for another task or thing from another person with other skills.

The only way to pay for taxes is with Money.

I think if taxes did not exist money will be less important since people can grow vegetables to trade with the butcher for meat, or fisherman for fish, and not worry about the government taking away your house, and land because you can't afford to pay your taxes with money.

That was, until they eventually evolved, into the humans we are today. When that happened, their needs changed as well and as their brains evolved, they became more aware of this, and invented things to help them adapt to their surroundings. While cable, and access to technology are luxuries, indoor plumbing, clothing and shelter are not. Also for them, there was no need for civility, that is not the case today. Today's humans are not as simple as the ones we evolved from, and while, we are advanced enough to survive in their world, with the advanced technology we'd invented and improved with time, Cavemen could not survive in ours.

I heard now that most of the Greek who are poor because their country went bankrupt is now bartering since few people have money to pay things for things.

Volunteering can be a form of bartering where you do things for free in exchange for a job reference, education, experience, and letter of recommendation which can lead to full time employment at a good job.

Because it pays the bills, puts food on the table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads, and for some, it pays for sex..

Without money, we'd be dead or very unhappy.. well actually, both..

Thats the problem.. the government has made us tied to this Money. Before money came along you could get food and clothing via trading.

That is true, but what is also true is that, when all else fails, you go back to the basics, which is what Greece is doing by bartering.

That would never work here because the rich will get richer, while the poor will continue to get poorer, and it will be the rich that will have the power and influence over the poor.. and they are also very litigious so innovation will be stifled as well.

I recently saw a video online of a man who lived in a cave, and have no money, but manage to live off the land, and be a scavenger by eating food that people throw away, or give to him.

The American who quit money to live in a cave

Daniel Suelo lives in caves in the canyonlands of Utah. He survives by harvesting wild foods and eating roadkill.

He has no job, no bank account and does not accept government welfare. In fact, Suelo has no money at all.

Suelo may have shunned all the trappings of modern American life, but he is not an isolationist.

Since abandoning money in 2000, the former cook from Moab, Utah has remained an active member of his community and avid blogger.

Mark Sundeen, author of The Man Who Quit Money, admits many people would regard Suelo's alternative lifestyle as bizarre. But the 2008 financial crash has led many to question the value of money. He explains some of the lessons found in Suelo's philosophy.

The guy also has a blog he maintains from the public library's computer http://zerocurrency.blogspot.ca/

I agree, but he is keeping up with technology pretty well since he has a blog which he writes at http://zerocurrency.blogspot.ca/ . There are people who have access to a computer at home who don't know how to post an article on a blog, and his blog is pretty well designed since he is not using the default blogspot theme.

His website at https://sites.google.com/site/livingwithoutmoney/ also looks pretty well design for a Google Site since it has a sidebar, columns, pictures and links

Money motivates us to work, so we can have food, water and other things.. I think without money.. no one would be motivated to do anything. We wouldn't really have food, or water or anything that we need. It powers us because it's a way for us to survive; but it is abused these days.

Money is better than a bartering system, but the problem is all the wealth is going to the rich. I'm not a Commie, but the middle class gets treated like shit.
