I see what you meant. But if only people accept other peoples culture and been a bit more open minded and understandable or and properly gain wisdom then I think things would have gone different way. But what you just written do have a strong point.
From what I've noticed, people are open to learn about other cultures all over the world, humans are a very curious kind after all.
The biggest reason why people get frustrated by multi culturism isn't because there are multiple cultures in one places, it's because the local cultures do their best to tolerate those of other cultures, but not the other way around.
Often gets as extreme as an Islamic migrant raping a little child in a swimming pool in Austria (where paedophilia is normally instantly punished for life), but justice did nothing against that migrant because "sexual emergency", which frustrated not only Austrians, but all well informed Europeans too.
