will the new Zelda for 3ds in realistic mode or toon link? what you prefer?

As long as we don't get another grim & gritty, dull & dark, lonely & lifeless Zelda like Twilight Princess I'm okay with every style.

yeah but wasn't that really what they were going for ? kinda like a darkness had taken over i agree it was a little TO dark for a Zelda game but besides being FORCED to be the clunky controlled wolf, i liked that darker look for once XD but like you said once is enough lol.

Making the world feel sad, dull and lifeless when it's taken over by twilight was ok. It needed to be like that. But the thing is that even the normal world which was supposed to feel alive.....just felt sort of lonely and depressed.

You have obviously never played Majora's Mask then.

I've just started playing Majora's Mask so I know what you mean. There's something about it... I find myself just watching the moon as it gets closer for example. The people of Termina don't know what is happening (sure some get scared by the moon, but they don't know it's going to crash into them) and it feels like you must bear the burden alone. I know that's the case in many Zelda games, but this isn't many Zelda games.

I mean how the game LOOKS. Majora's Mask had colors, and characters and music and stuff that still made you feel like you're in a world that lives. Even if the world is going to end. You felt the fear but you also felt the joy. In Twilight Princess I only feel the sadness.

Minor Patrick! Yay!

hate toon link sorry shy guy. hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE that style it looked like broken paper mashed into a bad art form. there's parts of them three games I liked and some I hated sure... but the art form GAH I don't like games on newer systems that look more broken then PS1 early graphics like ff7 and the blockeyness and many broken sprites...

Paper mashed into an art form?
You mean like this? :D

Blame Miyazaki for that. Studio Ghibli is typically great but shoulda never been hired to handle Zelda in the same way Hideo Kojima should never have touched the Castlevania Series to make Lords of Shadow, in my personal opinion.

Wha-? ...Ghibli worked on Twilight Princess? O.o That's the first I've heard of that.

Not Ghibli per say, but Miyazaki who is the c-oowner and writer of all of the Ghibli films and mangas. That was what I heard all through-out the game's development and release, but I can't find any proof of it online now that I am looking it up, so I doubt it. Especially since I am reading that Miyazaki despises video games lol

Huh...you sure don't notice it...or at least I didn't. :U

LOL You must be referring to the "RPG" with no level up system of any kind to make it feel like an RPG? To not go off topic, I'd like to add he should leave the Zelda series to Capcom, in my opinion. They made every handheld and I enjoyed the handhelds better than most of the others, though I haven't played Skyward Sword but I hear great things. I don't have a motion plus and I kinda don't want to pay for one JUST for that one game.

That's not the problem. The gameplay (while I prefer PM1 & 2's gameplay) is still ok.
It's that there are no unique characters and no interesting storylines, the writing feels mediocre, the enemies are generic, the worlds are generic...just no creativity..... I wrote a whole thread about it. :U

All because Miyamoto wanted it. -.- and everyone has to do what he says...

Yeah, I read the thread and review before. Stonewoot was POed he spent so much on it and told me not to get it until it drops to like $8. I'm not a fan of the handheld RPG series either due to having to control both mario and luigi for team attacks and half the time they are off the screen. Ticked me off enough to never want to play the first two fully or try the third one.

huh? Off the screen? what do you mean?

Well, I'll use the first game as an example. You can do a team-up attack where you have to time button presses for luigi and mario so that luigi jumps onto mario, mario tosses him in the air completely off screen for quite a while, and then as luigi lands you have to hit the button again as you would for a critical in MaRPG. That crap ticked me off and made the timing close to impossible for me to the point I heard Bowser's Inside Story was a great game, but I can't stomach it. I don't like the quick-time event style back and forth controls.

Hm...I see...
Well alright, if you don't like action commands then maybe those games are really not the right thing for you.

I remember when I first played the game. After a while I could execute those moves perfectly without looking at the screen. It's not that hard, once you get the hang of it.
I like action commands for the fact that you actually have some input into the attacks. It's not like Pokemon or most other RPGs where you just select the attack and that's it. No skill involved. Only knowing what's most effective. I find that boring.

But with action commands you can not only raise your attack but also dodge the ememie's attacks (or lower their attack power like in Paper Mario).
Or like Mother 3 where even rhythm is involved. I love that.

But if it's not your thing then I can understand that.
