This does look like a good feature for game emulator fans.

I wonder if Kodi ever get any exclusive games which only work on Kodi.

Most likely no, but maybe a different 'kodi' exclusively for games?
I agree most likely there won't be exclusive games for Kodi. But, there maybe some gaming add-ons and plug-ins which let people make and design games to be played in Kodi with a game making Kodi add-on and plug-in.

That is a linux flavor right? Shouldn't it be able to play any linux type games?
Originally Kodi was called XBMC(Xbox Media Center), and it is a full screen media player software designed for the first Xbox release in 2001.

"Kodi (formerly XBMC) is a free and open-source media player software application developed by the XBMC Foundation, a non-profit technology consortium.

XBMC software was created in 2002[10] as an independently developed homebrew media player application named Xbox Media Player for the first-generation Xbox game console, changing its name in 2004 to Xbox Media Center (abbreviated as XBMC, which was adopted as the official name in 2008) [10][7][11][12] and was later made available under the name XBMC as a native application for Android, Linux, BSD, macOS, iOS/tvOS, and Microsoft Windows-based operating systems."
