My TV just died, and I lost nearly 8 hours of progress on a randomized Pokémon Sapphire Nuzlocke... WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG!?

Thing was, disconnecting the HDMI won't return the video output to the device as the current version of the operating system doesn't support that yet... All I had to do was to quit retroarch from it, and I could have saved it, but in my fear, I hit the reset button instead, and the save file didn't get written to...
