Basically they cut away the chaff/pomp and returned to the meat of what announcing games is all about. While experiencing a live audience's reaction can be invaluable in gaining feedback for your product, it also means you have to spend out a lot on seating, organisation, etcetera.

Using YouTube reactions as time-padding? Seriously? For a professional presentation at an event like E3, that reflects rather poorly on Sony. It begs the question of why they really bothered to even show up, given they're saving all the "good stuff" for their own event. I mean, it makes sense...

The current Playstation model is a close contender for me, as well. However, I find myself not even considering the Switch as an option.

Is it just me, or are E3 announcements (or, in some cases, re-announcements) getting fewer by the number per year? Companies seem to just announce new titles on their own, in their own time throughout the year now. I remember when E3 used to have at least three times the amount of titles...

For the love of everything that is holy, let there be a Dwarf Fortress difficulty! :) (For those not in the now, Dwarf Fortress is nigh impossible to beat. It's literally torture, heh).
